What are the hazards of taking additives?

As today's society develops rapidly and living standards continue to improve, we realize a serious problem, which is our diet problem. In the past, we have not had access to advanced food, but now, in order to ensure that food is not easy to rot or spoil, additives are constantly added to food. Although they are all qualified additives that will not cause disease immediately, long-term consumption can still easily cause harm to the body. So what are the dangers of eating additives?

Compared with human development, these additives are newly synthesized in chemical laboratories. Our body actually lacks sufficient ability to decompose them. In addition, modern people are under great pressure in life and have irregular work and rest schedules, which results in the formation of waste.

Therefore, many people who take various Western medicines all year round will eventually suffer from liver and kidney failure. The reason is that our body does not understand chemical compounds, and the liver and kidneys are important detoxification organs of our body.

These chemical compounds are like aliens invading the earth, interfering with our body's immune system.

During the production process, additives are used in many snack foods. For example, saccharin, sodium cyclamate, pigments and preservatives are often added to candied fruits; pigments, MSG and flavors are often used in puffed foods; preservatives, MSG and nitrates are often used in dried meat and dried fish.

Food additives are relatively safe within a certain range, but if used in excess, they will have some adverse effects on the human body. It is not good for adults to eat too much, not to mention that children’s liver detoxification ability and kidney excretion function are relatively weak. Therefore, snack foods must not be equated with children's foods.

In addition, snacks often have stronger flavors. But children, especially babies, have different tastes than adults. Some foods that adults find bland may actually be more to children's taste. If parents always give their children delicious and flavorful food out of love, the children will unknowingly consume too many food additives.

Children may suffer from chronic poisoning if they eat snacks with excessive amounts of food additives!

When children eat snacks with excessive amounts of food additives, they may not have any symptoms at the time, but over time, they will have health problems.

1. Hazards of excessive preservatives:

Food preservatives are natural or chemically synthesized substances added to food to improve its quality and ensure its preservation during transportation and storage. If these substances are added strictly in accordance with the standards issued by the state, these substances added to improve food quality will not cause harm to the human body. But if the opposite is true, it will become an invisible killer of human health.

Some approved preservatives, such as benzoic acid, potassium sorbate and nitrite, may also inhibit bone growth to a certain extent and endanger the health of the kidneys and liver.

2. The harm of excessive saccharin:

In addition to taste factors, child nutritionists have also found in their research that a high-sugar diet can cause obesity in children. Children who eat a lot of sugar are not only prone to tooth decay, but also have a higher rate of ADHD and depression.

3. Hazards of excessive nitrates:

A high-salt diet is not good for children either. It will increase the burden on their kidneys and have potential adverse effects on their cardiovascular system. If a child has too much sodium in his body, toxins will be more difficult to eliminate. Excessive sodium intake may also increase his risk of developing high blood pressure in adulthood. Children with poor kidneys may also suffer from obvious edema if they eat high-salt snacks.

Nowadays, many foods for children on the European and American markets not only state that they do not contain food additives, but also often specifically state that they do not contain added sugar or salt.

4. The harm of excessive pigment:

Artificial synthetic pigments are chemical substances synthesized through artificial chemical methods and used to improve the sensory properties of food. They may contain certain toxicity after excessive use. The country has strict management regulations on this, which explicitly prohibit the use of artificial colors in some foods, and strictly limit the dosage of artificial colors in other foods. However, in order to make snacks look good, some food production units often use excessive amounts of artificial synthetic pigments, such as in puffed foods.

5. The hazards of excessive fragrance:

Many small food manufacturers like to use a lot of flavors to enhance the taste, so children can easily become dependent on strong flavors and lose interest in light, nutritious foods such as milk and vegetables. If things go on like this for a long time, it will easily lead to an unreasonable dietary structure for children and affect their balanced nutritional intake.
