Benign breast tumor is a common tumor in women, and it does not spread. Generally, as long as you pay more attention, there will be no major problems. Today I will introduce you to several common benign breast tumors in life. 1. Lipoma Lipoma is the most common benign tumor on the body surface. It can occur in any structure with adipose tissue, but is most common on the body surface and in the breast. It mostly occurs in obese female patients, and the age of onset is mostly between 30 and 50 years old. The main manifestations are single, round or lobed soft masses with clear boundaries, slow growth, and very few malignant changes. Treatment is mainly surgical resection. However, the surgery should be thorough; if there is any residue, it will inevitably cause recurrence. The resected tissue should be sent for pathological examination to avoid missed diagnosis due to the combination of other tumors. 2. Breast leiomyoma The most common site of leiomyoma is the uterus, and leiomyoma in the breast is extremely rare. Breast leiomyoma can be divided into the following categories according to their origin: 1. Superficial leiomyoma originates from the breast skin, especially the leiomyoma in the dermis of the areola area. It manifests as a small, slightly raised tumor in the areola area that is firm in texture, has clear boundaries, grows slowly, and causes no discomfort. 2. Vascular leiomyoma originates from the smooth muscle on the blood vessel wall of the breast itself. A lump is often felt in the deeper part of the breast, which is larger than the superficial leiomyoma, grows slowly, has clear boundaries, and causes no discomfort. Surgery is the only treatment. Breast Hamartoma Very rare. It is almost impossible to make a correct diagnosis clinically. The main symptoms are a lumpy mass in the breast with little mobility, slow growth, and no discomfort. It is more common in women after young and middle age. Surgical resection is the only cure. Other Soft Tissue Tumors 1. Soft fibroma: also known as skin tag, fibroepithelial papilloma or fibrolipoma. It often occurs in the nipple area. The surface of the tumor is basically consistent with the surrounding skin. It is connected to the skin by a pedicle and has a soft texture. If the skin tag is large and unsightly, it should be removed from the pedicle, including some normal tissue. 2. Neurofibroma: It is often a part of systemic fibromatosis. It is a group of soft or light brown pigmented hanging tumors that grow from the nipple and areola area without any discomfort. The body surface is often covered with scattered tumor-like masses and pigmented spots. Generally, surgical excision is not required. However, those that are large, ulcerated, or unsightly can be removed individually. 3. Other relatively rare benign tumors include hemangioma, schwannoma, granular cell tumor, etc. |
