Can pregnant women do foot massage during pregnancy?

As the name suggests, foot massage is a massage for our feet. This kind of massage can relax people's nerves and has certain benefits to the body. So can pregnant women still do foot massage?

7 types of people are not suitable for foot massage

1. Women who are pregnant or menstruating are not suitable for foot massage. Pregnant people are advised not to have foot massage, otherwise it may be harmful to the health of pregnant women and the health of the fetus, because Chinese medicine foot bath and acupoint massage may stimulate the female gonad reflex area, affecting the health of women and fetuses, and in severe cases may cause heavy bleeding or miscarriage.

2. Patients with acute infectious diseases, acute poisoning, surgical emergencies such as fractures, burns, perforations, heavy bleeding, etc. are not suitable for foot massage. Such patients should take emergency measures in time to avoid missing the opportunity and should not blindly choose foot therapy for treatment.

3. People who are under mental stress such as extreme sorrow, joy, fear, anger or extreme physical fatigue are not suitable for foot massage. These people should have foot massage after they are calm or have had enough rest in order to achieve the desired effect.

4. Various critically ill patients with renal failure, heart failure, myocardial infarction, liver necrosis, etc. are not suitable for foot massage. Because the patient's condition is very unstable, the stimulation of the foot reflexology zone caused by foot massage may cause a strong reaction and lead to worsening of the condition.

5. People suffering from various serious bleeding diseases. Patients with severe bleeding such as hemoptysis, hematemesis, blood in the stool, cerebral hemorrhage, gastric hemorrhage, uterine hemorrhage and other internal bleeding are not suitable for foot massage. Because foot massage promotes blood circulation and may aggravate various bleeding symptoms.

6. People who are on an empty stomach or full are not suitable for foot massage. Because foot massage can cause local vasodilation and increase blood volume, which will lead to reduced blood supply to the gastrointestinal tract and other digestive systems, affecting normal gastrointestinal function.

7. Patients with foot trauma, blisters, scabies, inflammation, suppuration, ulcers, edema and severe varicose veins are not suitable for foot massage. Because, during the process of Chinese medicine foot bath and acupoint massage, the diseased part of the foot will be touched, which may cause severe discomfort such as pain and itching, and may even aggravate the condition.
