Good at treating cold diseases

Traditional Chinese medicine believes that "warmth promotes circulation, and circulation relieves pain." People discovered long ago that applying hot objects to the painful area can eliminate and relieve pain. Hot compress is particularly suitable for treating various cold diseases. .

Joint pain

Joint pain. Joint pain is mainly caused by cold or blood stasis, which leads to blockage of meridians. Hot compress can dispel cold, dredge meridians and relieve pain. Heat the coarse salt in a pan until it is hot to the touch. Wrap the heated coarse salt in a cloth. Then place the coarse salt hot compress pack on the painful and chilly joints, and apply the hot compress for about 15 to 20 minutes each time. Place a towel under the hot compress to prevent burns

Air conditioning disease

If you use the air conditioner for too long or the temperature is too low during the dog days of summer, your body is likely to experience symptoms such as nasal congestion, headache, sneezing, and muscle and joint pain in the limbs. These symptoms can be relieved by applying hot compresses. The first choice is to apply hot compress to the Shenque point (i.e. the navel) to dispel wind and cold, warm the middle and strengthen the spleen. If you have a headache or dizziness, you can apply compresses on the temples, Fengmen acupoint (two horizontal fingers away from the spinous process of the second thoracic vertebra), and Lieque acupoint (cross your left and right hands, press the index finger of one hand on the depression just above the center of the high bone behind the other wrist, which is where the index finger tip points). This can dispel wind and cold, dredge the meridians and relieve pain. If you have nasal congestion or sneezing, you can apply hot compresses to the Dazhui and Mingmen acupoints (located on the lower back opposite the belly button) until your forehead starts to sweat slightly.

Cold

Hot compress on the Dazhui point is helpful to remove the cold from the body, relieve the symptoms and induce sweating, so as to achieve the purpose of treating colds caused by wind and cold. The Dazhui point is located on the midline of the back of the neck, in the depression below the spinous process of the seventh cervical vertebra, and belongs to the Du meridian acupoint. The Du meridian controls the body's Yang energy and is the sea of Yang meridians. It is best to feel a slight warmth when applying hot compress. It is best to do it before going to bed at night. Generally, the hot compress lasts about 20 minutes. For those with colds accompanied by coughs, you can add acupoints such as Feishu (two horizontal fingers to the left and right of the spinous process of the third thoracic vertebra), Dingchuan (half a horizontal finger to the left and right of the Dazhui point). After hot compress, you should keep warm to avoid cold air intrusion.

Have loose bowels

For abdominal pain and diarrhea caused by cold, a simple treatment of hot compress on the Shenque point can be used. You can apply hot salt pack on the Shenque point and also apply hot compress on the Guanyuan point (four horizontal fingers below the navel) at the same time. It has the effect of removing dampness and cold, and warming the spleen and kidneys.

stiff neck

For neck pain and difficulty in turning caused by stiff neck, you can apply hot vinegar to the Dazhui point and the painful area on the neck. Stiff neck is caused by the invasion of wind and cold, obstruction of meridians, or sprains and qi stagnation and blood stasis. Hot compress with vinegar can dispel wind and cold, promote blood circulation and remove blood stasis, and relieve pain. Take an appropriate amount of vinegar and heat it until it is not too hot to touch. Then apply gauze soaked in the hot vinegar to the affected area while slowly moving your neck. Do this for about 30 minutes each time, 2 to 3 times a day.
