How to measure ovulation by taking body temperature

There are many ways to measure ovulation period. Some people think that only medical equipment examination in the hospital is accurate, so they go to the hospital regularly. Some people find it troublesome, so they choose the most direct method, using ovulation test strips. In fact, ovulation period can also be detected by measuring body temperature. So how do you measure body temperature to detect ovulation? Here I will tell you in detail how to measure body temperature to detect ovulation.

1. How to measure ovulation period by measuring body temperature

The first thing to note is: choose a fixed time point. This time point is usually the time when you wake up in the morning. Some people get up early, some get up late. This depends on individual circumstances. But there are two points to note here: First, you must ensure more than six hours of sleep at night, no less than this time. The second point is that after waking up, just lie there quietly and place the thermometer where you can easily reach it with your hand. Remember not to move.

The second point to note is: choose a special measurement location. This is different from the usual way we measure body temperature by placing the thermometer in the armpit. We put the thermometer under the tongue. In terms of time, about five minutes will be enough.

The third point to note is: perseverance. The worst thing about all things is to fish for three days and then dry the nets for two days. This is especially true when measuring body temperature, which undergoes small changes every day as ovulation approaches. If you are lazy, then I can't do anything to you.

The fourth point to note is: keep good records. You may remember these tiny changes now, but you will forget them after tomorrow. So it is very important to keep good records. Can't be careless at all. We can't just scribble on a blank sheet of paper. Just like a dedicated thermometer, it is best to use a dedicated thermometer for recording paper.

2. How to obtain eggs for IVF

Egg retrieval is done within 35 to 36 hours of the human chorionic gonadotropin injection. If it is too early or too late, it will affect the quantity and quality of eggs retrieved. Also, if it is too early, the eggs will not be able to fully mature, and there will be many immature eggs. However, if it is too late, some large follicles may be formed, and therefore the eggs will not be able to reach the ovum.

Egg retrieval is a minor surgery that can be performed under general or local anesthesia. The vaginal ultrasound machine will insert the egg retrieval needle through the vagina and reach the ovary to retrieve the eggs. Then the egg retrieval staff will immediately transfer the retrieved eggs to a culture dish containing embryo culture medium under a microscope and place them in an incubator at 37 degrees Celsius for culture. Because intravaginal ultrasonic aspiration is a minor surgery, some egg retrieval staff will use painkillers instead of general anesthesia to save time.

Under normal circumstances, egg retrieval takes less than 30 minutes. After egg retrieval, women will feel slight pain and a small amount of bleeding. They can go home after resting in the hospital for one to two hours. Such a minor operation will not affect their normal life. Since the sizes of the follicles are different, the maturity stages of the eggs retrieved are also different. Some eggs may not be mature yet, but some may be over-mature. The egg just retrieved is surrounded by cumulus cells. Under normal circumstances, the maturity of the egg can be judged from the expansion of the cells. However, if you want to know the exact stage of maturation of the egg, you must separate those cells from the egg.
