Why does a mosquito bite turn purple?

Generally speaking, after being bitten by a mosquito in daily life, you will recover after a day or two. However, if you have an allergic constitution, your skin may turn purple after being bitten by a mosquito. You should pay attention to this. It is mainly caused by allergies. At this time, urticaria will form, leading to skin inflammation, which can be treated with certain medications.

Why does a mosquito bite turn purple?

Insect bite dermatitis is a temporary and severe skin allergy to the saliva or secretions of insects. It usually occurs on exposed parts of the human body. After being bitten, it will quickly appear itchy and red spots will quickly grow into red spots, and small blisters will appear on some surfaces. Some people who are severely allergic to insect bites will develop large blisters locally. Therefore, anti-allergic drugs must be used for treatment. They are loratadine tablets, one tablet in the morning and cetirizine hydrochloride tablets, one tablet in the evening. Children should reduce the dosage. These two drugs are effective for all allergies.

Note that the main culprits for biting people are mosquitoes, and occasionally some strange insects in the mountains. In fact, there is no need to consider what kind of insect it is, just treat it symptomatically.

Some people have a lot of red spots on their bodies, but not all of them are caused by insect bites. Clinically, there is such a situation that after an insect bite, a severe allergy occurs. As a result, in addition to the red spots caused by the direct bite, the parts of the skin covered by clothes will also have bumps.

What to do if you are allergic to mosquito bites

The blister caused by insect bites can be distinguished. Many people will see that some red blister have blisters or scratch marks on the surface of the blisters, while some do not. In fact, these blisters are caused by insect bites directly. Those without blisters on the surface are induced allergies. (As shown below)

For scratched blisters, it is generally recommended to apply compound phellodendron liquid externally, which has a strong antipruritic effect and can also promote wound astringency; in addition, the Chinese patent medicine Baixuan Xiatare Tablets is very effective for general allergic itching;

If the blisters are large, it means that the allergy is more serious. It is best not to break such blisters, otherwise they will recur in the same place and swell up again like an inflated ball. It is also easy to get infected. Just follow the above treatment measures.

Note that allergies to insect bites usually take longer to heal, usually taking a week. It won’t heal in a day or two because it takes time for the human immune system to react.

What is more important is prevention. When you go out to play, you can bring some floral water and apply some on the exposed skin to effectively repel insects.
