Helicobacter pylori

Helicobacter pylori

Helicobacter pylori is a bacterium that is harmful to the human body, but it is inevitable that a large proportion of people have this bacterium in their bodies, and it can have a great impact on people's digestive system. However, there are also some foods that can specifically inhibit Helicobacter pylori, such as dandelions. Dandelion is a wild vegetable that is very beneficial to stomach health. So can dandelion inhibit Helicobacter pylori?

Nowadays, it can be said that "nine out of ten people have stomach problems". Stomach problems "torture" many people. The small wild vegetable in spring - dandelion, is a small plant that can be used as both medicine and food. It enters the stomach meridian and has a good effect on stomach health!

The Compendium of Materia Medica lists dandelion in the vegetable section, saying: "It grows in scattered areas. Its stems, leaves, flowers and catkins are similar to those of chicory, but smaller. The young shoots are edible."

Dandelion enters the liver and stomach meridians, clears away heat and detoxifies, eliminates carbuncles and disperses nodules. It can also reduce inflammation, cool blood, promote diuresis, and strengthen the stomach. It is known as the "bed-wetting grass".

Dandelion has 4 major effects on stomach health

1. Clear stomach heat (i.e. clear stomach fire)

"New Edition of Materia Medica" records that "Dandelion is very cheap but has great benefits, but unfortunately people in the world do not know how to use it. Yangming fire often spreads across the prairie, and using Baihu Decoction to purge the fire will inevitably damage the stomach qi. The fire in the stomach is strong because the earth in the stomach is weak. Purge the fire and the earth will become weaker. Therefore, using Baihu Decoction to purge stomach fire is extremely appropriate for a short time, but it cannot be relied upon for a long time. Dandelion is also a medicine for purging stomach fire, but its qi is very mild. It can purge fire without damaging the earth, so it can be taken for a long time without any hindrance."

This means that dandelion can clear stomach fire, and its effect is even better than Baihu Decoction, and it does not hurt the stomach qi or the soil, so it can be consumed for a long time!

2. Improve gastritis

Dandelion has a broad-spectrum bactericidal effect and is known as a "natural antibiotic". It is praised by the Chinese medicine community as one of the "Eight Great Kings" of herbs with heat-clearing, detoxifying and anti-infection effects.

Dandelion is a good anti-inflammatory medicine, especially effective for gastritis.

Dandelion can not only eliminate the "inflammation" of gastritis, but also kill Helicobacter pylori that causes gastritis. Therefore, it is very suitable to use dandelion to treat gastritis.

Modern pharmacological experiments have also confirmed that dandelion decoction can significantly reduce the damage to the gastric mucosa of experimental animals, thereby achieving the purpose of treating gastritis.

Clinical applications have also proved that dandelion alone is effective in treating superficial gastritis and gastric ulcers, but it is more suitable for patients with "stomach heat". The main symptoms of stomach heat include heartburn, stomach bloating and pain, vomiting sour and bitter water, bad breath, yellow urine, etc.

3. Kill Helicobacter pylori

Modern research has found that dandelion can not only kill and inhibit Helicobacter pylori, but also repair damage to the gastric mucosa.

From March 2003 to June 2006, dandelion combined with omeprazole capsules was used to treat Helicobacter pylori (Hp) positive erosive gastritis (CSG) and compared with the treatment of western medicine triple therapy:

Treatment:

The treatment group used 30g of dandelion to soak in water and drink it on an empty stomach in the morning and evening; 20mg of omeprazole was taken once in the morning and evening.

The control group received triple therapy with Western medicine: amoxicillin 0.5 g, 3 times a day, orally. Metronidazole 0.2 g, 3 times a day, orally. Omeprazole 20 mg, orally twice a day.

The treatment course for both groups was 4 weeks, and other medications were discontinued during the treatment period.
