How is condylar chondrosarcoma treated?

Patients with condylar chondrosarcoma should pay attention to timely treatment to reduce the harm caused by this problem as much as possible. The treatment methods include radiotherapy and chemotherapy. In addition, they should also have a scientific diet and eat more foods that have anti-bone marrow disease effects, such as kelp, seaweed, etc.

1. Medication treatment

1. Radiotherapy: In the past, it was believed that chondrosarcoma was insensitive to radiotherapy, so radiotherapy was rarely used as the sole means of treating chondrosarcoma. In recent years, there have been a few reports suggesting that some chondrosarcomas are still sensitive to radiotherapy. If sensitizers can be injected while using radiotherapy, the cure rate of chondrosarcoma can be improved. However, the reported numbers are small and the exact efficacy needs further observation.

2. Chemotherapy Chemotherapy has developed rapidly since the 1970s, but the chemotherapy regimen used to treat osteosarcoma is ineffective in treating chondrosarcoma. This is because even in highly malignant chondrosarcomas, the rate of DNA synthesis is very low, and the enlargement of chondrosarcomas is mainly the result of matrix synthesis rather than DNA replication. Therefore, there is currently no mature chemotherapy regimen for the treatment of chondrosarcoma.

2. Diet and Health Care

① It is advisable to eat more foods that have anti-bone marrow disease and osteosarcoma effects, such as kelp, seaweed, mussels, clams, wakame, almonds, peach kernels, and plums.

②For bone pain, it is advisable to eat tortoise shell, turtle meat, pangolin, oyster, crab, shrimp and walnut.

③ People with enlarged spleen should eat soft-shelled turtle, loach, conger eel, hairy clam, kelp and wakame.

④ People with anemia should eat pork liver, shiitake mushrooms, sesame seeds, royal jelly, yellow croaker, peanuts, sea cucumbers, grass carp, and abalone.

⑤It is advisable to eat soft-shelled turtle and eel during chemotherapy. To supplement white blood cells, chemotherapy requires sufficient white blood cells, and chemotherapy cannot be carried out if there are not enough white blood cells. Cordyceps sinensis can reduce the side effects of chemotherapy.
