Precautions for floating needle treatment of lumbar disc herniation

When it comes to floating needle therapy, many people don't know what it is. Floating needle therapy is different from traditional Chinese acupuncture. It is relatively simple to operate, has no side effects, and has a wide range of applications. It has the characteristics of quick results and accurate efficacy. Nowadays, many people suffer from lumbar disc herniation. When suffering from this disease, they can also choose to use floating needle therapy for treatment.

Floating needle therapy is the product of the combination of traditional acupuncture and modern medicine. It is based on inheriting and carrying forward the ancient acupuncture academic thoughts and valuable practical experience, combined with modern medicine, especially the results of modern acupuncture research. Therefore, in a certain sense, it can be called modern acupuncture.

1. Patients should not be treated with acupuncture immediately when they are too hungry, tired or nervous.

2. Patients who often have spontaneous bleeding or bleeding that does not stop after injury should not be treated with acupuncture.

3. Acupuncture should not be performed on areas of the skin with infection, ulcers, scars or tumors.

4. Floating needle therapy requires a long retention time and is more susceptible to infection than traditional acupuncture therapy. Floating needle instruments can only be used once and must be disinfected. Especially for patients who are prone to infection, such as diabetic patients, extra caution should be taken to prevent infection.

5. During the needle retention period, attention should be paid to the sealing of the needle port and the fixation of the needle body. Advise the patient to avoid strenuous activities and bathing to prevent sweat and water from entering the body and causing infection.

6. When the limbs are swollen, the effect is not good and other methods of treatment can be used instead. For example, in the treatment of systemic lupus erythematosus and rheumatoid arthritis, large amounts of hormones lead to edema. In this case, floating needle therapy has poor analgesic effect.

7. For soft tissue injuries, if floating needle therapy only has short-term effects and the condition recurs, immune system diseases should be considered.

8. Positional pain without a clear pain point (the pain only occurs when the joint is in a certain position) is often not effective.

The therapeutic effects of floating needle therapy:

(1) It is mainly used to treat pain caused by various diseases. It also has a good effect on abnormal sensations such as numbness and fullness.

(2) The effect is quick. When treating pain, the effect is felt immediately after the needle is inserted.

(3) The therapeutic effect can be maintained while the needles are left in place. If the needles are left in place for a certain period of time, the therapeutic effect can also be maintained after the needles are removed.

(4) Safe and without side effects. Not only does it not have the toxic side effects of drug treatment, but because the needle is only inserted into the loose connective tissue under the skin, the problems of broken, bent, and stuck needles caused by traditional acupuncture no longer exist. Needle dizziness is also less likely to occur than with traditional acupuncture therapy.
