Blood in semen is medically called hematospermia, and most of the time it is caused by seminal vesiculitis. Hematospermia is one of the male reproductive system diseases, and its main symptom is the ejaculation of red semen during sexual intercourse. So what are the other causes of seminal vesiculitis? 1. Seminal vesiculitis Seminal vesiculitis is the most common cause of hematospermia. The wall of the seminal vesicle is thin. When the seminal vesicle is inflamed, the wall of the seminal vesicle becomes edematous and congested, and the fragility of the capillaries on the wall of the seminal vesicle increases. During ejaculation, the seminal vesicle contracts forcefully, causing the capillaries to rupture and resulting in bleeding, which is characterized by hematospermia throughout the process. 2. Posterior urethral varicose veins There are many small veins in the neck of the bladder that extend directly to the posterior urethra. These small veins dilate, and the posterior urethra contracts strongly during sexual intercourse and ejaculation, causing the small veins to rupture and produce hematospermia. 3. Urethritis When the urethra is inflamed, especially when the urethra is inflamed at the spermatorrhea, hematospermia is likely to occur, and its characteristic is that the first part of the semen contains blood. 4. Blood diseases Patients with blood diseases may also have hematospermia due to their bleeding tendency. 5. Esophageal inflammation Chronic spermatorrhea can easily lead to spermatocystitis, causing difficulty in urination and painful ejaculation. Due to the congestion and edema of the seminal collenchyma tissue, the mucosa is prone to rupture and bleeding. Especially during sexual intercourse, the posterior urethra contracts strongly, making hematospermia more likely to occur. 6. Prostatitis Prostatic fluid is the main component of semen, accounting for about 30% of semen. When the prostate is inflamed, hematospermia may also occur. 7. Urethra injury Frequent sexual intercourse can cause excessive congestion of the prostate and seminal vesicles, and can also cause hematospermia. Blood in semen may appear, especially when the urethral mucosa is damaged due to overly intense sexual intercourse or improper sexual position. In addition, the causes of hematospermia include seminal vesicle cysts, tuberculosis, tumors, schistosomiasis, portal hypertension, systemic blood system diseases, etc. In short, no matter what the reason is, male friends should not take this abnormal phenomenon lightly. |
