Sichuan wild medicinal herbs

1. Sichuan Basin medicinal materials production area

This area is located at the bottom of the Sichuan Basin. The thermal conditions are better than those in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River at the same latitude. The main products include 1,000 to 1,500 species, including Chuanxiong, Ophiopogon japonicus, Salvia miltiorrhiza, White Peony Root, Aconitum, Chuanwu, Curcuma aromatica, Curcuma longa, Curcuma zedoaria, Alisma orientalis, Angelica dahurica, Panax notoginseng, dried ginger, citron, and fig.

2. Panxi region medicinal materials production area

Including Liangshan Prefecture, Xichang City, Panzhihua City, Jinsha River dry and hot valley and other places, with good water and heat conditions, the main production of aloe, Poria, Psoralea corylifolia, red euphorbia, pangolin, Dipsacus asper, Panax notoginseng, Scutellaria baicalensis, Saposhnikovia divaricata, Amomum villosum, Kaempferia galanga and more than 2,400 other species.

3. Mountain medicinal material production area around the basin

This area is rich in medicinal plant resources and is the region with the highest precipitation in Sichuan. It has about 1,500 to 2,000 species of Chinese medicinal resources, mainly producing varieties such as Gastrodia elata, Cyathula capitata, Eucommia ulmoides, Magnolia officinalis, Phellodendron chinense, Ginkgo biloba, Coptis chinensis, Honeysuckle, Bupleurum chinense, Magnolia officinalis, Pinellia ternata, and Safflower.

4. Medicinal materials production area in the northwest Sichuan plateau and western Sichuan high mountain valleys

The terrain in this area is high in the north and low in the south, with an altitude of 2500-5500m. It mainly includes Aba Prefecture and Ganzi Prefecture. The environment is almost pollution-free and it produces a large number of precious Chinese medicinal materials, mainly producing about 1,800 species such as Fritillaria cirrhosa, Musk, Taxus chinensis, Dioscorea, Notopterygium wilfordii, Codonopsis pilosula, Cordyceps sinensis, Astragalus membranaceus, Rhubarb, Gentiana macrophylla, Rhodiola rosea, Snow lotus, and Artemisia selengensis.

5. Wild Chinese medicinal materials in Sichuan
