If a bedridden patient has redness on his buttocks, it is a symptom of poor blood circulation caused by compression of the skin due to bed rest. In addition, if a bedridden patient has incontinence, urine and other factors may cause adverse irritation to the skin, affecting the skin and even causing bedsores. This is also a serious complication for bedridden patients.

What to do if the bedridden patient has a red buttocks

1. Drug treatment of bedsores (1) Fibroblast growth factor treatment of bedsores: After disinfecting and cleaning the area of the patient's bedsore, evenly cover the wound with 2% fibroblast growth factor ointment, and then bandage it with a sterile dressing. Patients with bedsores should change the dressing once a day. This drug can effectively promote the healing of bedsore wounds, help all cells proliferate, and speed up the healing of wounds. (2) Iodine tincture for the treatment of bedsores: This drug has the effect of dehydrating tissues, promoting wound drying, and softening hard structures. Patients with bedsores can apply iodine tincture to the wound twice a day. (3) Polyantigen A for the treatment of bedsores: It can stimulate the body's immune cells to enhance immune function and promote the repair of bedsore wound tissue. For patients with larger bedsore wounds, first clean the wound with normal saline, then irradiate with infrared lamp for 20 minutes. After the wound is dry, apply a wet compress with polyantimony solution, then irradiate with infrared lamp for 10 minutes, and finally cover with sterilized comfrey oil gauze. For patients with bedsores with a lot of exudate, change the dressing three times a day. (4) Metronidazole for the treatment of bedsores: It is particularly effective in killing anaerobic bacteria, and can dilate blood vessels and enhance blood circulation. After flushing with this medicine, apply wet compress to the wound and irradiate with infrared lamp for 20 minutes. Patients with bedsores should do this 3-4 times a day.

2. Physical therapy for bedsores uses pure oxygen to inhibit the growth of anaerobic bacteria in the wound, increase the oxygen supply in the wound tissue, and improve local tissue metabolism. After the oxygen flow dries the wound, a thin scab is formed, which is conducive to healing. Method: Cover the wound with a plastic bag, fix it firmly, and blow oxygen into the bag through a small hole. The oxygen flow rate is 5-6l/minute, 15 minutes each time, twice a day. After treatment, the wound can be covered with sterile gauze or left exposed. For wounds with a lot of secretions, 75% alcohol can be placed in the humidification bottle so that oxygen can bring out some of the alcohol when passing through the humidification bottle, thereby inhibiting bacterial growth, reducing secretions, and accelerating wound healing.

3. Treatment of bedsores with external use of traditional Chinese medicine: Mix the burn powder made from eucalyptus leaves with normal saline to form a paste, add 5 mg of dexamethasone and apply it on the bedsore wound twice a day. 4. Surgical treatment of bedsores For bedsores that are large in area and deep into the bone, when the above conservative treatments are not ideal, surgical treatment can be used to accelerate healing, such as surgical scraping and drainage, removal of necrotic tissue, and skin grafting to repair defects. Surgical repair is also suitable for combat injuries complicated by large-area bedsores, because combat wounded patients lose a lot of blood and have poor body resistance, and bedsores that are not healed can easily lead to systemic infection. Surgical repair can shorten the course of bedsores, relieve pain, and improve the efficiency of treating bedsores.
