Myeloid cell sarcoma

Whenever we feel unwell and go to the hospital for a check-up, the thing we fear most is that we have a sarcoma in our body. Moreover, as modern people do not pay attention to their diet, sarcoma diseases are becoming younger and younger. Myeloid cells

Myeloid is an adjective that refers to "granulocytic precursor cells" of the bone marrow or spinal cord, or similar conditions of the bone marrow or spinal cord.

For example, myeloid leukemia is a type of leukemia that begins with abnormal growth in the blood-forming tissue of the bone marrow. [1]

In hematopoiesis, the term "myelocyte" describes any blood cell that is not a lymphocyte. The term "myeloid" is often used in the classification of cancers, especially leukemias. [1]

The term myelocyte may be confused with myelin, the insulating layer that covers the axons of many neurons.

sarcoma

Malignant tumors originating from mesenchymal tissue (including connective tissue and muscle) are called "sarcomas" and often occur in the skin, subcutaneous tissue, periosteum and both ends of long bones. Osteosarcoma is more common in young people and tends to occur at the ends of the long bones of the limbs, especially the lower end of the femur, the upper end of the tibia, and the upper end of the humerus. Osteosarcoma develops rapidly and has a short course. It begins to grow in the cortex and can gradually develop into the bone marrow cavity. Sometimes it breaks through the periosteum and invades the surrounding soft tissue, easily causing pathological fractures. Other common tumors include leiomyoma, lymphosarcoma, synovial sarcoma, etc., and hematogenous metastasis can occur in the early stage. Sarcomas are malignant tumors.

Sarcoma Treatment

1. Surgery

Amputation or radical surgery is the most commonly used method, but the effect is still not ideal, and about 50% of patients still die. Partial resection is also not ideal. Currently, both domestic and foreign tend to retain the local part of the limb and then perform chemotherapy and radiotherapy.

2. Chemotherapy

Preoperative and postoperative chemotherapy is feasible, but the effectiveness is low and the side effects are serious.

3. Local radiotherapy

Radiotherapy can also be selectively performed on some sarcoma patients, but the effectiveness rate is low, and the effect is even worse once lung metastasis occurs.
