How does cerebral thrombosis form?

Cerebral thrombosis has become a common disease, especially in the elderly. If cerebral thrombosis is found after examination, it can be improved through active treatment, such as taking medication for treatment. Some drugs now have good therapeutic effects on cerebral thrombosis. In addition, people should also understand how cerebral thrombosis is formed, so that they can better prevent the occurrence of cerebral thrombosis.

How does cerebral thrombosis form?

Cerebral thrombosis is the most common type of ischemic cerebrovascular disease. It is caused by thrombosis in the arteries supplying the brain, which causes stenosis or complete occlusion of the arterial lumen, resulting in ischemia, hypoxia, and necrosis of local brain tissue in the blood supply area, causing localized neurological dysfunction.

The most common sites of cerebral thrombosis are the middle cerebral artery, internal carotid artery, and vertebral-basilar artery junction. The main pathological changes are fatty degeneration and cholesterol deposition in the deep layer of the arterial intima. As atherosclerotic plaques gradually develop, the intima ruptures, forming intimal ulcers. Intimal ulcers are prone to thrombosis, and the arterial blood flow is obstructed by thrombosis. The brain tissue within its supply range softens and necrotizes due to lack of sufficient blood and oxygen supply.

The clinical manifestations of cerebral thrombosis are symptoms and signs of local brain dysfunction, such as paralysis, sensory impairment, amnesia, and even impaired consciousness.

Cerebral thrombosis is related to three factors

Cerebral thrombosis is mainly caused by hypertension and atherosclerosis and is closely related to blood composition.

(1) Vascular disease: The most important and common vascular disease is atherosclerosis, followed by cerebral arteriosclerosis associated with hypertension.

(2) Changes in blood composition: The inner membrane of the vascular lesion is rough, making it easier for platelets in the blood to adhere, accumulate, and release more chemicals such as serotonin. It causes the blood viscosity to increase and the blood flow to slow down. In addition, blood diseases (such as leukemia, polycythemia and various factors that affect increased blood coagulation) make cerebral thrombosis more likely to occur.

(3) Hemodynamic changes: The regulation of cerebral blood flow is affected by many factors. Changes in blood pressure are an important factor affecting local blood volume in the brain. When the mean arterial pressure is lower than 71 mmHg and higher than 170 mmHg, the blood supply to local brain tissue may be impaired due to lesions in the blood vessels themselves, stenosis of the lumen, and failure of the automatic regulation function.

In addition, clinical medical research has found that a history of hypertension, abnormal electrocardiogram, heart disease, diabetes, hyperlipidemia, a family history of hypertension, overweight and a preference for fatty meat are related to the onset of cerebral thrombosis. In order, a history of hypertension, systolic blood pressure, body mass index and a decrease in high-density lipoprotein are the main causes affecting cerebral thrombosis.

What can we do in our daily life to prevent cerebral thrombosis?

1. Actively check and treat hypertension, arteriosclerosis, diabetes, etc. which are closely related to this disease.

2. Ensure adequate drinking of water. Insufficient drinking of water will increase the viscosity of blood in the body and it will be difficult to excrete accumulated waste. The normal daily drinking water intake should reach 2000-2500 ml.

3. Eat more foods that are good at preventing cerebral thrombosis, such as buckwheat, garlic, onion, sophora japonica beans, tomatoes, celery, wolfberries, mulberry leaves, kelp, seaweed, black fungus, white fungus, peach kernels, hawthorn, lemon, cassia seed, etc., which have good preventive and therapeutic effects on lowering blood viscosity and reducing abnormal blood clots in the blood.

4. Take food fermentation liquid that can prevent cerebral thrombosis, such as buckwheat and mulberry leaf fermentation liquid. It is made by fermenting and purifying the same blood vessel clearing foods: buckwheat, mulberry leaves, sophora japonica seeds, cassia seeds, wolfberries, chrysanthemums and probiotics. Its medicinal ingredients are 12 times higher than those of food and are more conducive to the human body's absorption and utilization. It can lower blood lipids and blood pressure, dredge blood vessels, improve blood circulation, and prevent cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases.

In addition, it is necessary to develop a regular lifestyle, especially for the elderly, because their physiological regulation and adaptive functions are reduced, and irregular life can easily lead to metabolic disorders and promote thrombosis. Secondly, avoid going to bed immediately after a meal, because after a meal the blood gathers in the gastrointestinal tract to help the blood supply to the digestive organs, while the blood supply to the brain is relatively reduced. At the same time, going to bed right after a meal will cause a drop in blood pressure, which can further reduce the blood supply to the brain. Slow blood flow can easily lead to blood clots, so it is best to go to bed half an hour after a meal. Quitting smoking and limiting alcohol consumption are also important for preventing cerebral thrombosis.
