There are several types of myopia surgery

There are four most common types of myopia surgery, among which femtosecond surgery is the most mature and safest. Before undergoing myopia surgery, you must understand some precautions and basic common sense. For example, only those who are over 18 years old can undergo myopia surgery. In addition, the degree of myopia has not changed much within one year, which also meets the requirements for myopia surgery.

There are several types of myopia surgery

Excimer laser (PRK); semi-femtosecond laser (femtosecond laser + LASIK); full femtosecond laser (Smile)

A fourth type has been added: implantable contact lens (ICL), which is too expensive and new, with unknown side effects.

The most mature and safest femtosecond surgery is provided by Germany's Zeiss (just a device, not an advertisement).

Unsuitable groups : 1. People under 18 years old. People under 18 years old are not suitable for surgery. The surgery requires the patient's refractive state to be stable. Refractive status includes refractive errors such as myopia, hyperopia, and astigmatism. Since young people under the age of 18 are in the period of physical growth and their eye refractive power is unstable, if they undergo surgery blindly, their vision is likely to deteriorate after one or two years. The best age for surgery is between 25 and 30 years old. 2. Laser surgery for myopia in patients with congenital eye diseases requires the cornea to have a certain thickness. This thickness varies from person to person. Some people cannot undergo laser surgery due to congenital deficiencies.

3. Presbyopia is not suitable for surgery. Presbyopia is caused by the decline of accommodation ability due to aging. Even if it is temporarily cured, it will relapse due to aging. 4. People who engage in water sports are not suitable for surgery. Therefore, excimer laser surgery to treat myopia must meet the following conditions: first, the age is between 18 and 50 years old; second, the myopia degree must be stable for more than two years; third, there is no other serious eye disease and history of eye surgery; fourth, there is no diabetes, collagen disease, or scarring physique.
