Symptoms of a sudden heart attack

Symptoms of a sudden heart attack

The heart is an important organ in the human body. If there are certain problems with the heart, it will affect various functions of the human body. In severe cases, it may even threaten people's lives. For example, sudden heart attack is a disease that is extremely dangerous for patients. Therefore, patients must understand the possible symptoms and dangers of sudden heart attack so that they can respond more calmly when the disease occurs!

1. Difficulty breathing, dizziness, and difficulty taking a deep breath

When you find it difficult to take a deep breath, you might think there's something wrong with your lungs, but it could also be the result of a weak heart causing too little oxygen in the blood. Officials say difficulty breathing and shortness of breath are often the first sign of a range of heart problems. In a Harvard study, 40% of female heart attack patients had experienced shortness of breath in the six months before their diagnosis.

2. Increased, violent or irregular heartbeat

A sudden or unexplained increase in heartbeat or an irregular heartbeat can remind you a few weeks or a month or two before a heart attack: you need to pay attention. If it is just an irregular heartbeat without an increased heartbeat, then the situation is slightly better. However, once the irregular heartbeat is accompanied by an increased heart rate per minute (ventricular tachycardia in medicine), then the body has clearly indicated that you should go to the hospital immediately. Especially after exercise, once ventricular tachycardia occurs, there is a high possibility of sudden death within a short period of time. Therefore, be sure to seek help as soon as possible.

3. Nausea, stomach pain, indigestion

If you have these reactions without any obvious reason, then you most likely have cardiovascular problems that cause gastrointestinal discomfort. Clogged arteries due to fatty deposits can reduce or even block blood flow to the heart, which can cause angina. These symptoms are most common in women who think they are minor problems and avoid going to the clinic or hospital. This is why 42% of women died from heart disease in the past year, while only 24% of men died from heart disease in the same period.

4. Extreme fatigue

If you have overwhelming fatigue that lasts for days, weeks, or even months, it could be a sign that something is wrong with your heart. Of course, you might say that you feel tired when you have a cold, but persistent fatigue is not simply caused by a virus. According to the National Institutes of Health, more than 70 percent of women experience extreme fatigue in the weeks before they develop heart disease.

5. Unusual excessive sweating

If you suddenly start sweating after not exercising for a while, it is often a sign that you are about to have a heart attack. For women, it can feel more like the hot flashes or night sweats of menopause. According to research from the University of Chicago, before a heart attack, there will be a lot of sweating on the body, such as the neck, back, scalp, palms or soles.

6. Pain in the shoulders, neck, jaw, or arms

Chest pain is one of the most common and well-known symptoms of heart disease. Because of this, people tend to ignore other similar information: such as pain in the shoulders, neck, etc. In fact, the body transmits pain signals caused by the heart through nerves up and down the spinal cord, and the radiation range includes the vicinity of the vertebrae. Therefore, when there is a problem with your heart, you may feel pain in your neck, jaw, and even your ears. The pain may be sharp, but it may also be so dull that you think it is a simple muscle strain. Among patients who die from heart disease, more than 50% felt the above symptoms when they were first attacked by heart disease. In fact, clearly understanding these pain sensations is the key to getting quick treatment. Unfortunately, it is difficult for people to make the connection between shoulder pain and heart disease.
