The dangers of comedones

The dangers of comedones

Pyroma is quite common in our daily life and can occur at any age. The cause of its formation is not particularly clear at present, but its harm is indeed quite large. First of all, it will affect one's image because it is easy to appear on the face or head and sometimes it will attract attention. In addition, when the pyroma ruptures, it is easy to form scars. When inflammation occurs, it will cause pain and even compress the nerves.

Affect personal image

Sebaceous cysts are round or spherical cystic tumors that gradually form when sebum secretion is blocked due to blockage of the sebaceous gland ducts. They often occur on the face, head, chest and back. When a cyst grows on the face, it is often particularly eye-catching and has a great impact on one's personal image.

Scar after ulceration

Sebaceous cysts grow in areas with more sebaceous glands. These areas secrete sebum and sweat vigorously, and due to frequent touching and friction, sebaceous cysts are prone to infection, suppuration, and rupture. After the cysts rupture, they will disappear temporarily, but will form scars and are prone to recurrence. In the long run, they will leave scars that are difficult to eliminate.

Cysts are often painful

Sebaceous cysts will not heal on their own and will slowly grow larger over time. If they are not infected, they may last forever. However, cysts compress facial blood vessels and nerves, often accompanied by pain and tenderness. If not treated, the pain will persist.

Compression of nerves

Some sebaceous cysts are located in special locations, such as on the head or around the eyes. If allowed to grow larger, they may compress the nerves and cause local numbness of the body, decreased vision, and other conditions.

Sebaceous cyst is the most common benign skin tumor, but any tumor has the potential to become cancerous. The chance of sebaceous cysts becoming cancerous is relatively rare, but it must be prevented. To be on the safe side, it is better to remove the sebaceous cysts as soon as possible.

Sebaceous cysts are benign and not tumors. Sebaceous cysts were previously called "psyomas" and are formed when the sebaceous gland ducts are blocked, causing the contents to accumulate. It is one of the most common tumors on the body surface. Its contents resemble bean curd dregs and it is not a true tumor.
