How to detect kidney disease

How to detect kidney disease

If you have kidney disease, you must seek prompt treatment. Kidney disease has a huge impact on the human body. Everyone has only two kidneys. If there is a problem with the kidneys, normal metabolism will not be able to proceed in the body. In severe cases, it may cause kidney failure, thus threatening a person's life. Therefore, the treatment of kidney disease cannot be delayed. So, how is kidney disease detected?

1. How to detect kidney disease

1. Nephritis cannot be diagnosed through routine blood tests. The initial abnormalities of nephritis can be detected through routine urine tests. If a clear diagnosis is required, renal function tests and renal puncture can be used for qualitative analysis. Nephritis does have symptoms of general fatigue, and urine routine will show plus signs for red blood cells, white blood cells or protein.

2. Typical chronic nephritis is not difficult to diagnose. It is generally more common in young and middle-aged men, with a slow onset and prolonged illness. There are abnormal urine tests, often with proteinuria, which may be accompanied by hematuria, edema, and hypertension. There may also be varying degrees of renal impairment. The examination methods for chronic nephritis are roughly the same as those for other kidney diseases.

In addition, some patients are particularly recommended to undergo renal biopsy to further clarify the pathological diagnosis, which is helpful for the treatment and prognosis of the disease.

3. A blood test to check kidney function can tell if you have kidney failure. It is necessary to do a urine test, because even if there is kidney failure, the urine needs to be checked to see what caused the failure. A blood test to check kidney function showed elevated urea nitrogen and blood creatinine, indicating chronic renal failure. Do a routine urine test. If there is urine protein or occult blood, it is likely nephritis. Further examination is needed to find out the cause.

4. Urinalysis items can be roughly divided into four categories: kidney disease, diabetes, urinary tract infection and other diseases. Kidney disease items include acidity and alkalinity, specific gravity, occult blood or red blood cells, protein and color. The normal reference values are: 4.6~8.0, 1.005~1.030, positive, negative, light yellow to dark yellow. Changes in these indicators may indicate renal impairment.

2. How to detect uremia

Uremia is the terminal manifestation of chronic renal failure. Uremia is not an independent disease, but a clinical syndrome common to various late-stage kidney diseases. It is a syndrome composed of a series of clinical manifestations that appear when chronic renal failure enters the terminal stage. The urine tests for uremia vary greatly depending on the primary disease, but there are also common points. The common points include decreased urine osmotic pressure; decreased urine volume; urine protein of +~+++. In the late stage, because most of the glomeruli have been destroyed, urine protein decreases instead; urine sediment examination may show varying numbers of red blood cells, white blood cells, epithelial cells and granular casts. If thick, short, homogeneous waxy casts with cracks on the edges can be found, it will be meaningful for diagnosis.
