Traditional Chinese medicine believes that chronic hepatitis is mainly caused by the invasion of damp-heat toxins and the damage of vital energy. Moxibustion on relevant acupoints can remove dampness and heat, promote blood circulation and regulate qi, and regulate the functions of internal organs, thereby achieving the purpose of treatment.

1. Qimen acupoint

【Effect】Combines liver qi

This point is located on the chest, directly below the nipple, in the sixth intercostal space, 4 inches lateral to the anterior midline.

2. Liver Shu Point

【Effect】Disseminate the Qi of the internal organs

The Liver Shu point is located on the back, 1.5 inches lateral to the spinous process of the 9th thoracic vertebra, with one point on each side.

3. Sanyinjiao

【Effects】Nourishes Yin and reduces internal heat

Sanyinjiao is located on the inner side of the calf, 3 inches directly above the tip of the inner ankle and behind the inner edge of the posterior edge of the tibia. There is one point on each leg.

It is recommended to treat the above-mentioned acupoints once a day, 2 to 3 acupoints each time, and moxibustion each acupoint for 30 to 40 minutes. One course of treatment is 10 days.

3. Traditional Chinese Medicine teaches you how to use moxibustion to treat hepatitis

1. Main acupoints: Zusanli, Taichong, Yanglingquan, Ganshu.

2. Chronic hepatitis: Pishu, Sanyinjiao.

3. Hepatitis B: Pishu, Dazhui, Zhiyang, Qimen, Zhongwan, Qihai, Dazhui.

4. For jaundice, treat with moxibustion on the gallbladder point. For loose stools, treat with moxibustion on Guanyuan and Yinlingquan.

5. Use gentle moxibustion on the above acupoints, moxibustion for 10 minutes on each acupoint, once every other day, 7 times a course of treatment. For those with yin deficiency and excessive fire, less moxibustion.

4. Precautions for moxibustion treatment

1. People who are too hungry, too full, drunk, very thirsty, or overly tired are not suitable for moxibustion treatment. People with weak constitutions should not use moxibustion too strongly.

2. Moxibustion is not suitable for areas with spontaneous bleeding or bleeding that does not stop after injury, skin infection, scars, etc.; moxibustion should be used with caution in the eye area, neck area, chest and back.

3. Do not do moxibustion one hour after a meal, and do not wash your hands or take a bath with cold water half an hour after moxibustion.

4. After moxibustion, drink more warm water than usual (never drink cold or ice water), which helps the excretion organs eliminate toxins from the body. 5. If you experience dizziness, blurred vision, nausea, panic and sweating after moxibustion, it is called moxibustion dizziness. Stop the moxibustion immediately and open the window for ventilation.

6. Moxa is flammable. After moxibustion, be sure to put out the fire to avoid fire. At the same time, avoid falling ashes and burning your skin.

7. Pregnant women and women during menstruation should not use moxibustion. Moxibustion should also be used with caution in patients with mental illness and other severe conditions who are not suitable for moxibustion.
