How to eat dried Dendrobium candidum

How to eat dried Dendrobium candidum

Tiepi Shikui has existed in ancient times, and the ancients would use it as a life-saving herb. However, when we take medicine now, we should not only look at the efficacy, but also understand the taboos and precautions in the food. Tiepi Shikui has many medicinal values, and these are issues that deserve special attention, especially since few people eat dried Dendrobium officinale and do not know about the precautions involved.

The ancients used Dendrobium officinale as medicine and called it "life-saving grass". Modern people use it as a health product, soak it in water to drink, and cook it, calling it a "yin-nourishing treasure". It is the giant panda of the medicine world and the soft gold among plants.

With people's continuous understanding and development and utilization of Dendrobium officinale, the ways of eating Dendrobium officinale have become diversified, but the different methods and ways of eating will affect its efficacy and function. In addition, there are some taboos in the medicinal use of Dendrobium candidum:

1. Long cooking time is required when used alone

When using Dendrobium officinale alone, there is no need to worry about anything, but it needs to be boiled for a longer time to better exert its medicinal effect;

2. There are taboos when taking it with other medicinal materials

When decocting Dendrobium officinale with other medicinal materials, it should be boiled for more than 30 minutes in advance and then boiled with other medicinal materials. This will better exert its medicinal effects. Moreover, it cannot be eaten with gypsum, croton, silkworm, thunder ball, etc.

3. It is better to use less rather than more.

In daily health care, the amount of Dendrobium officinale consumed should also be controlled. Eating too much can cause diarrhea, and excessive intake of dendrobium alkaloids may inhibit the heart and breathing, and lower blood pressure. When using it as medicine, you must be more cautious and take it according to the doctor's orders, and do not be impatient for quick results and increase the dosage without authorization, otherwise it may cause some adverse reactions or harm the body.

After eating Dendrobium Officinale, it takes time to be slowly digested and absorbed in the stomach and intestines; and radish has the function of defecation and ventilation. Eating radish after eating Dendrobium Officinale will affect the intestinal absorption of the effective ingredients of Dendrobium Officinale, thereby reducing or failing to achieve the effect of disease prevention and treatment and health care.

5. Avoid eating with mung beans

Mung beans have an inhibitory effect on the efficacy of Dendrobium officinale, so it is best not to eat the two together.

6. Some people should not eat

Although Dendrobium officinale has a wide range of functions and applications, there are still some people who should not use it. According to TCM theory, Dendrobium candidum is refreshing and moistening, and should not be eaten by those with deficiency without fire, or those with excess heat syndrome, thick and greasy tongue coating, and abdominal distension. Dendrobium can restrain evil spirits, and should not be used early for febrile diseases, such as in the early stages of a cold. Dendrobium can also help dampness, and should not be eaten by those with damp-heat that has not yet turned into dryness. Dendrobium candidum helps to strengthen yin, but if consumed by people with cold stomach, it will damage yang energy, so it is also prohibited.
