Headache is a relatively common disease. It usually feels like a throbbing pain on the left side of the head. This is also a type of headache. Most headaches are caused by excessive fatigue, staying up late, or overusing the brain. As long as you pay more attention to rest, it can be relieved in most cases. If temporary rest cannot relieve the headache, it is best to go to the neurology department of the hospital. It is very likely that the headache is caused by a physical disease. What causes migraine? About 60% of patients have a family history of genetic factors. Therefore, it is believed that this disease is related to genetics, but there is no consistent genetic form yet. Endocrine factors Vascular migraine is more common in adolescent women. It occurs frequently during menstruation, stops during pregnancy, recurs after delivery, and gradually decreases or disappears after menopause. Dietary and drug factors Migraine attacks can be triggered by certain foods and drugs, including cheese containing tyramine, meat and pickled foods containing nitrite preservatives, chocolate containing phenylethylamine, food additives such as monosodium glutamate (MSG), red wine and wine, etc. Medications include oral contraceptives and vasodilators such as nitroglycerin. Other factors such as emotional stress, mental trauma, worry, anxiety, hunger, insomnia, poor external environment and climate change can also trigger migraines. Treatment for migraine: Soaking hands in hot water. When a migraine occurs, you can soak your hands in warm water for half an hour. This can dilate the blood vessels in your hands and reduce the blood flow to the brain, thus relieving the migraine. The method of combing and massaging the painful points is to place the ten fingertips of both hands on the most painful part of the head, and comb and massage lightly and quickly like combing your hair. Comb and massage one hundred times back and forth each time. Do this once in the morning, noon, and before dinner every day, and it can effectively relieve the pain.Rub your temples in the early morning after waking up or before going to bed at night. Use the middle fingers of both hands to press and rub your temples in circles. First, rub seven to eight circles in the clockwise direction, then rub seven to eight circles in the reverse direction. Repeat several times for several days and your migraine headaches will be greatly relieved. Eat magnesium-containing foods. Patients can often eat foods rich in magnesium, such as almonds, walnuts, peanuts and green leafy vegetables, which can relieve migraines. Symptomatic treatment with drugs Symptomatic treatment of migraine can be achieved with non-specific drugs, including simple analgesics, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs and anesthetics. For mild to moderate headaches, simple analgesics and nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs can often relieve headache attacks. Migraine precautions: Get as much rest as possibleFind a quiet and dark room to lie down and take a nap, but avoid sleeping too much, so as not to have a headache after waking up. A nap may help relieve a headache, but it's best not to nap if you don't have a headache. Skipping or delaying meals on time can cause headaches. Missing a meal can cause muscles to tense up, and when blood sugar drops due to lack of food, the blood vessels in the brain constrict. When you eat again, these blood vessels dilate, causing a headache. Exercise more. Exercise is one of the effective ways to prevent headaches because it can help you relieve tension and stress. If your headache is not severe, exercise can help relieve it. But if you have a severe headache, don't exercise as it may make the situation worse, especially if you suffer from migraines. Sleeping in an odd sleeping position, such as lying on your back or sleeping on your stomach (belly down), can contract the neck muscles and cause headaches. Sleeping in a supine position is beneficial. Similarly, when you are standing or sitting still, do not lean forward or turn your head in any direction. Watch your caffeine intake If you take large amounts of caffeine every day, your blood vessels will dilate, which may lead to headaches. Therefore, it is best to limit coffee consumption to a maximum of two cups per day. |
