What Chinese medicine is most effective for amenorrhea

Recipe 1: 30 grams of turtle shell, 1 white pigeon, and a little rice wine. Remove the feathers and internal organs of the pigeon, and crush the turtle shell. Put it into the pigeon's belly. Add an appropriate amount of water and a little rice wine. Put it in a clay pot and stew it until cooked. Season and serve. This prescription is suitable for amenorrhea caused by liver and kidney deficiency.

Recipe 2: 90 grams of yam and 30 grams of chicken gizzard lining. Dry the two ingredients, grind them into fine powder, take 12 grams each time, once a day. Take with glutinous rice wine or yellow wine. This prescription is suitable for amenorrhea caused by deficiency of Qi and blood.

Recipe 3: 120 grams each of black fungus and walnut kernels, 240 grams of brown sugar, and an appropriate amount of rice wine. Grind the fungus and walnut kernels into powder, add brown sugar and mix evenly, seal in a porcelain jar, take 30 grams each time, mixed with rice wine, twice a day, take with rice wine. This prescription is suitable for amenorrhea caused by deficiency of Qi and blood.

Recipe 4: 10 grams of zelan leaves, 1 water fish, and a little rice wine. Scald the live fish with hot water to make it urinate, then cut it open and remove the intestines. Grind the leaves of Ze Lan into powder, put them into the belly of water fish (use both the shell and the meat), add appropriate amount of clean water, put it in a clay pot and stew it until cooked, add a little rice wine and drink it. Take once every other day for 3-5 times in a row to see the immediate effect. This prescription is suitable for amenorrhea caused by yin deficiency and blood dryness.

Recipe 5: 9 grams of sunflower stems and 250 grams of pig’s trotters. First wash the pig's feet (trotter shells), scrape off the dirt, fry them with river sand in a pot, then wash them clean, put them in a casserole, and simmer them over low heat until they are cooked. After the pig's trotters are stewed, add sunflower stems and boil for a few times until it becomes a thick juice. Remove the residue and drink the juice, 2-3 times a day, 20-30 ml each time. This prescription is suitable for amenorrhea caused by qi stagnation and blood stasis.

Recipe 6: 30 grams of coix root. Wash the medicine, cut into sections, boil in water, drink on an empty stomach in the morning and evening, and take more than ten doses to be effective. This prescription is suitable for amenorrhea caused by phlegm-dampness and yang stagnation.

Traditional Chinese medicine divides amenorrhea into five types:

Amenorrhea due to deficiency of Qi and blood: In the late menstrual period, the menstrual volume is scanty and light in color, gradually leading to amenorrhea, dizziness and fatigue, sallow complexion, forgetfulness and insomnia, shortness of breath and laziness to speak, dull hair and skin, pale tongue, and weak pulse. The treatment should be to nourish qi and blood, and the prescriptions used include ginseng Yangying Decoction, Guipi Decoction, etc.

Amenorrhea due to Qi stagnation and blood stasis: irregular menstrual periods, gradual or sudden menstrual amenorrhea, pain and distension in the chest, flanks, breasts, and lower abdomen, irritability, dark tongue with petechiae, stringy and wiry pulse. Treatment should be to regulate Qi, activate blood circulation, and remove blood stasis. Prescriptions used include Xuefu Zhuyu Decoction, Xiaoyao Pills, etc.

Amenorrhea due to phlegm-dampness stagnation type: in the late menstrual period, it gradually turns to amenorrhea, with obesity, abdominal distension, fatigue, poor appetite, nausea, excessive white vaginal discharge, greasy white tongue coating, and a stringy and slippery pulse. The treatment should be to eliminate phlegm and dry dampness, and the prescriptions used include Atractylodes Macrocephalae Decoction, Xiangsha Liujun Decoction, etc.

Amenorrhea due to liver-kidney deficiency: Amenorrhea in young girls is mostly caused by congenital deficiency, insufficient kidney qi, insufficient liver blood, insufficiency of Chong and Ren meridians, and inability to produce menstrual blood, resulting in amenorrhea; while amenorrhea in women is mostly caused by frequent childbirth, or long-term illness affecting the kidneys, resulting in insufficient kidney essence, liver blood, deficiency of Chong and Ren meridians, and overflow of blood from the uterus.

Amenorrhea due to kidney deficiency and sperm deficiency: late menarche, scanty menstrual flow, light red color, gradually leading to amenorrhea, dizziness, tinnitus, soreness of waist and knees, dry mouth, hot hands and feet, or hot flashes and sweating, light red tongue with little coating, and stringy or fine and astringent pulse. The treatment should be to nourish the kidney and replenish essence, and the prescriptions used can be Guishen Pills, Zuogui Pills, etc.
