Several possible diseases of severe anemia

Anemia exists in all female friends to a greater or lesser extent, because women have menstruation regularly, and menstruation is an important cause of anemia in women. However, there are many symptoms of anemia in the human body, such as frequent feeling of dizziness and nausea, which are most of the time caused by anemia. However, severe anemia can endanger a person's life and health. What complications will there be if it is severe anemia?

(1) Cardiovascular system manifestations: Palpitations and shortness of breath after physical activity are the most common symptoms. When anemia is severe or there is heart failure, palpitations and shortness of breath may occur even when resting.

(2) Neurological manifestations: When anemia is severe, neurological symptoms are also common, especially in elderly patients. Common symptoms include dizziness, headache, tinnitus, blurred vision, black spots or stars in front of the eyes, lack of energy, fatigue and drowsiness, difficulty concentrating, slow reaction, numbness, chills or tingling in the hands and feet, etc. Severe anemia may cause fainting. If anemia occurs suddenly, the patient often becomes irritable and restless.

(3) Digestive system manifestations: Loss of appetite is one of the most common symptoms. Abdominal distension, discomfort in the epigastric area, nausea, and constipation may also occur. Sometimes there may be tongue pain and a smooth tongue coating. In severe anemia, the liver may be slightly enlarged, which is particularly obvious when heart failure occurs, and is often tender.

(4) Reproductive system manifestations: Female patients often have irregular menstruation, with amenorrhea being the most common. Anemia is often caused by menorrhagia, but occasionally anemia can also cause menorrhagia.

(5) Urinary system manifestations: severe anemia, mild proteinuria, and increased nocturia.

Women are more likely to suffer from anemia than men. Therefore, women should pay great attention to their daily diet to prevent anemia. It may be helpful to try the following two blood-enriching products suitable for anemia patients.

Causes of severe anemia

(1) Poor hematopoietic function. When the bone marrow hematopoietic function is damaged by some chemical, physical, toxic or other unknown factors, anemia will occur. This type of anemia often also causes a decrease in white blood cells and platelets, which is medically called aplastic anemia.

(2) Lack of hematopoietic substances. Hematopoietic substances mainly include vitamin B12, folic acid, vitamin B2, pantothenic acid, vitamin B1, iron, cobalt, copper and some important amino acids. Lack of any of the above substances may cause anemia. The most common of these are iron deficiency anemia caused by iron deficiency and megaloblastic anemia caused by vitamin B12 or folic acid deficiency.

(3) Increased destruction of red blood cells. Anemia caused by increased destruction of red blood cells is called hemolytic anemia. Under normal circumstances, the average lifespan of human red blood cells is 120 days, after which they age and break down. Some congenital or acquired factors can shorten the life span of red blood cells and accelerate their destruction, thus causing anemia, which is often accompanied by symptoms such as jaundice, fever, and hepatosplenomegaly.

(4) Bleeding. Acute massive blood loss, such as massive upper gastrointestinal bleeding and traumatic bleeding, can cause acute hemorrhagic anemia; chronic blood loss such as menorrhagia, hemorrhoids and other small amounts of chronic blood loss can also cause anemia.
