Not that magical! The efficacy of this Chinese medicine has been exaggerated too much

The efficacy of some medicinal herbs has been exaggerated due to word of mouth, commercial hype, or misunderstanding of their efficacy:

1. Wolfberry is a traditional Chinese medicine and also a healthy food. It is listed as a "dual-purpose medicine and food" by the Ministry of Health. It has high nutritional value and can produce essence and nourish the marrow, nourish yin and nourish the kidneys, replenish qi and calm the mind, and strengthen the body. People love wolfberry because most of them believe that wolfberry can strengthen yang. But in fact, the real effect of wolfberry is not to strengthen yang but to aphrodisiac. There is a saying "Don't take wolfberry when you are thousands of miles away from home", which means don't take wolfberry when your wife is not around. Wolfberry can be used to treat symptoms such as cold limbs and frigidity, but it cannot be used as a food therapy for strengthening yang.

2. Resurrection grass, also known as resurrection grass and nine-death resurrection grass, is magical in that it is extremely drought-resistant. After drying, it can be "revive" when it encounters water, so many people believe that it can "come back to life." In fact, the effects of resurrection grass are not that magical. Resurrection grass has the effect of promoting blood circulation and relieving menstruation, and has a certain therapeutic effect on symptoms such as bruises, abdominal pain, asthma, and bloody stools. Note: Pregnant women should not take this product.

3. Maca has become very popular in recent years, and it has become like a gas station for men and a beauty salon for women, and its price has also risen sharply. But the embarrassing thing is that in its place of origin, Peru, maca is just an ordinary vegetable food, but in many parts of South America it is used as feed to feed livestock in large quantities. Maca is similar to sweet potatoes, yams, radishes, etc. Currently, the food and drug regulatory authorities have classified products containing maca as food and health food. The claim that maca can enhance sexual function is false propaganda.

4. Bird's nest has been praised as a nourishing and beauty product for women since ancient times, and is regarded as a precious delicacy! However, modern medicine believes that bird's nest is not as nutritious as tofu. The main nutrient in bird's nest is protein, which is far less nutritious than imagined.
