How to remove dental plaque from children

The main reason why children have dental plaque is that we do not pay attention to their oral hygiene in life. We should let children brush their teeth in the morning and evening, and rinse their mouths after meals. To remove tartar, we can also use white vinegar mouthwash and brown sugar toothbrushing method. For the causes and symptoms of tartar in children, we should choose the corresponding treatment method to deal with it.

What are the causes of dental calculus in children?

1. The first reason is poor oral hygiene. Children do not master the correct method of brushing their teeth, nor do they develop the good habit of brushing their teeth in the morning and evening. The dental plaque cannot be cleaned in time, adheres to the teeth and slowly hardens, thus forming dental tartar.

2. The formation of dental tartar is also related to normal eating habits. Sweet and sour foods can easily irritate tooth enamel, causing bacteria around the teeth to multiply and plaque to slowly accumulate and form tartar.

3. The concentration of carbon dioxide in oral saliva, excessive saliva secretion, and alkaline conditions in the mouth can induce the formation of stones.

4. Dental tartar cannot be ignored. If allowed to develop, the size of the tartar can exceed the crown surface of the tooth. If it is not cleaned in time, it may affect speech and eating in serious cases. Therefore, we must pay attention to the causes of tartar formation and carry out timely prevention and limited treatment.

What are the symptoms of dental calculus in children?

1. Inflammation, redness and swelling of the gums, and bleeding around the teeth can also be regarded as the early symptoms of tartar.

2. Bad smell in the mouth, dull pain and bad breath. Tartar is not as fatal as malignant tumors, but it can cause great damage to the dental lining and affect the quality of life.

3. Loose teeth. The function of the alveolar bone in supporting teeth is reduced, causing the teeth to loosen and fall out on their own.

4. Periodontal pockets form around the teeth. The gums and tooth surface attachments of the teeth deepen toward the bottom of the teeth, forming periodontal pockets, which may bleed and overflow with pus.

5. Children’s dental tartar should not be ignored. It can affect your child's appetite and eating. If any abnormality is found in a child's teeth, correct diagnosis, prevention and treatment should be given in time to avoid delaying the disease and affecting the child's healthy growth.

What are the tips for removing dental plaque?

1. Vinegar brushing method

Take a mouthful of vinegar, spit it out in your mouth for 2 to 3 minutes, brush your teeth with a toothbrush, and then rinse your mouth with warm water. Or when brushing your teeth, add two drops of vinegar to the toothpaste and keep it on for a while to remove tartar.

2. Brown sugar brushing method

First, take an appropriate amount of brown sugar in your mouth and hold it for about 15 minutes so that the teeth in your mouth are immersed in the sugar solution. Then brush your teeth repeatedly with a harder brush for 2 to 3 minutes, and then brush your teeth with light salt water for 1 to 2 minutes. Do this once in the morning and evening every day for a week to remove tartar.
