So, what are the traditional Chinese medicine prescriptions for spleen and kidney yang deficiency?

1. Take Shenqi Pills with Guizhi Fangfeng decoction

Shenqi Pills is the main prescription for warming the kidney and supporting yang. In the formula, cooked rehmannia is sweet and warm and nourishes the kidney, while cornus officinalis and yam nourish the liver and spleen. The three medicines are used together to nourish the kidney, liver and spleen; aconite and cassia twig (or cinnamon) warm the kidney and assist yang; oriental water plantain, poria and moutan bark can clear the turbid qi of the liver, spleen and kidney. The whole formula is warm but not dry, nourishing but not greasy, and focuses on warming the kidney Qi. Use cinnamon twig and saposhnikovia root to disperse the wind-cold on the surface, decoct it into a soup and take it with Shenqi Pills to achieve the purpose of warming the kidney, assisting yang and relieving the exterior.

2. Take Yougui Pills with a decoction of perilla leaves and ginger

The "You" in Yougui Pills means Mingmen, and Yougui refers to the medicine returning to Mingmen to warm and nourish the kidney yang. In the formula, cooked rehmannia nourishes kidney yin to assist kidney yang; deer antler glue is a product of blood and flesh, salty in taste and warm in nature, warming and nourishing the kidney and Du meridians; cornus fruit, yam, and wolfberry nourish the liver and kidney; dodder seed, cinnamon bark, and aconite warm the kidney and strengthen yang; angelica and eucommia warm and nourish the liver and kidney, dispel cold and strengthen the waist. The whole formula has the effect of warming yang, tonifying the kidney and strengthening the waist. It can be used for patients with kidney yang deficiency who suffer from chills, cold limbs, weak waist and knees, poor appetite, loose stools, pale complexion, or impotence, edema, etc. Boil perilla leaves and ginger in a soup and drink it to dispel wind and cold while warming the yang, which has the benefit of mutually supplementing each other. If the Yang deficiency is not severe, you can first relieve the symptoms and then apply warming and tonifying.

3. Compound Psoralea corylifolia Granules

This prescription has the effect of warming the liver and kidneys and strengthening the muscles and bones. The prescription uses Psoralea corylifolia and Cynomorium songaricum to warm and nourish the liver and kidneys; Dipsacus asper and Cibotium barometz to strengthen the tendons and bones; Red Peony Root to promote blood circulation and remove blood stasis, and Polygonatum sibiricum to invigorate Qi and nourish Yin. It is suitable for low back and knee pain caused by kidney yang deficiency and lumbar strain. For such patients with wind-cold colds, take compound Psoralea corylifolia granules together with wind-cold exterior deficiency cold granules.

4. Bu Tian Ling Pian

This prescription is used to nourish the kidney, strengthen yang, replenish essence and benefit marrow. The prescription uses epimedium, curculigo, psoralea corylifolia, cynomorium songaricum, leek seed, cinnamon, red ginseng, and cnidium monnieri to warm and nourish the kidney yang; uses dog whip, sheep whip, ox whip, donkey whip, mink whip, sea dragon, wolfberry, and deer antler to replenish essence and marrow; and uses Achyranthes bidentata to strengthen tendons and bones. This prescription is suitable for kidney yang deficiency, impotence and premature ejaculation, weak waist and knees, spermatorrhea and spontaneous sweating, chills and cold limbs, fatigue and weakness, etc. Those who suffer from wind-cold can take Butianling tablets with a decoction of perilla leaves and ginger. However, this tablet contains a lot of living things, so it is not advisable to take too much.
