Tongue sores are very painful. There are many small taste buds on the tongue. The various flavors we taste every day are all due to them. But if sores appear on the tongue, it will affect the sensitivity of the taste nerves. Not only that, when we eat, we will feel pain, and in severe cases, there will be bleeding, redness, swelling, and erosion. We need to treat it in time. Here are some prescriptions for tongue sores. Treat according to syndrome differentiation 1. Exogenous toxicity (1) Symptoms often occur 1 to 2 days after an external infection and are accompanied by symptoms of an external infection. Initially, the oral mucosa is locally congested, red, swollen, and slightly painful. Small chestnut-like red spots or blisters appear on the tip of the tongue or inside the lips. The blisters burst within 12 hours, appearing as superficial ulcers with clear boundaries. (2) Treatment principles: clearing away heat, detoxifying, strengthening the spleen and eliminating dampness. (3) Prescriptions: honeysuckle, forsythia, patchouli, costusroot, perilla, poria, Shenqu, fructus aurantii, kudzu root, atractylodes, magnetite, inula flower (decoction in a package). Decoction in water, 1 dose per day. 2. Heat accumulation in the spleen and stomach (1) Symptoms: multiple erosions and sores in the mouth and tongue, redness and swelling of the sores, burning pain, or even bad breath, swollen and painful gums, accompanied by thirst, excessive drinking, yellow urine and constipation, red tongue with yellow coating, and slippery and rapid pulse. (2) Treatment principle: clear away heat and purge fire, and cleanse stomach heat. (3) Prescriptions: Gardenia, Scutellaria, Forsythia, Rhubarb, Sodium Sulfate, Barium Sorbate, Coptis Chinensis, Bamboo Leaf, Licorice. Decoction in water, 1 dose per day. 3. Spleen and Kidney Yang Deficiency (1) Symptoms: oral ulcers, which are white in color, not surrounded by redness, are few in number, and do not heal after long-term treatment. They are accompanied by cold limbs, dry mouth, preference for hot drinks, back pain, frequent and clear urination, loose stools, pale tongue with a greasy white coating, and a deep and weak pulse. (2) The treatment principle is to warm and nourish the spleen and kidneys and guide the fire back to its source. (3) Prescription: Prepared aconite root (pre-boil for 30 minutes), cinnamon bark, rehmannia root, cornus officinalis, yam, moutan bark, poria, oriental water plantain, and atractylodes. Decoction in water, 1 dose per day. 4. Weak spleen and stomach (1) Symptoms: Recurrent sores in the mouth and tongue, with pale, sunken sores, accompanied by fatigue, shortness of breath, loss of appetite, cold limbs, loose stools, pale tongue with white coating, and a thready, weak pulse. (2) The treatment principle is to tonify the middle and replenish Qi, strengthen the spleen and eliminate dampness. (3) Prescription: Astragalus, Codonopsis, Chinese Angelica, Tangerine Peel, Bupleurum, Cimicifuga, Patchouli, Poria, Atractylodes, and Licorice. Decoction in water, 1 dose per day. 5. Heart and Kidney Yin Deficiency (1) Symptoms: The ulcers are bright red in color, numerous in number, of varying shapes and sizes. The pain is mild during the day and severe at night, accompanied by palpitations, restlessness, insomnia, forgetfulness, dizziness, tinnitus, soreness in the waist and knees, dry throat and mouth, short and yellow urine, red tongue with thin coating, and a weak and rapid pulse. (2) The treatment principle is to nourish Yin, clear heat, nourish the heart and calm the mind. (3) Prescriptions: Radix Rehmanniae, Radix Dioscoreae, Rhizoma Dioscoreae, Radix Alismatis, Fructus Corni, Flos Chrysanthemi Indici, Fructus Forsythiae, Rhizoma Cimicifugae, Fructus Amomi, and Herba Viscum Alismatis. Decoction in water, 1 dose per day. 6. Blood deficiency and Yin deficiency (1) Symptoms: Oral and tongue ulcers often occur before and after menstruation, accompanied by early and heavy menstruation, fever in the five parts of the body, dry mouth and thirst, pale tongue with a thin white coating, and a weak and thready pulse. (2) The treatment principle is to nourish blood and replenish yin, and to reduce internal heat. (3) Prescription: Chinese angelica, white peony root, raw rehmannia root, bamboo leaf, poria, moutan bark, gardenia, bupleurum, ophiopogon, schisandra chinensis, and scrophularia. Decoction in water, 1 dose per day. 7. Deficiency fire rising (1) Symptoms: Ulcers on the lips, tongue, and cheek mucosa; redness, swelling, pain, difficulty eating, difficulty speaking; red tongue; and a stringy, slippery, and rapid pulse. (2) The treatment principle is to remove impurities and detoxify. (3) Prescription: gallbladder alum. Usage: Apply gallstones to the ulcer surface, do not grind it into powder to prevent overdose. |
