Thickening of the flesh under the toenails

Thickening of the flesh under the toenails

Many people want their feet to be smooth and tender, but because the feet need to move frequently, calluses will form on the soles of the feet. This is normal and will not affect your health. It may even have a certain protective effect on your feet. If a girl needs to improve her skin, she can take care of her feet through some exfoliating treatments. So, what should you do if the flesh under your toes thickens?

1. Foot callus formation

Some ladies who love beauty are prone to develop calluses on their toe joints, forefoot and heels due to wearing pointed high-heeled shoes. Some people also have symptoms such as cracks on the outer edge of the heels. In areas where calluses are thicker, the weight of the body stimulates local nerves, causing pain and even affecting walking. This not only brings inconvenience to life but also affects the appearance of the feet.

2. Prevention and treatment of foot calluses

Many people only think of its disadvantages when they are in pain. In fact, the earlier you care about foot problems, the easier and more economical it will be to solve the problem of calluses.

Change bad habits. Many people like to play with their feet in a very relaxing environment, and they can't help but tear off the calluses on their feet, or use scissors or nail clippers to remove calluses. In fact, doing so will not only easily cause uneven skin at the trimmed area, but also make the calluses more likely to become thicker and harder. For very thin calluses, you should soak your feet in warm water to allow the stratum corneum to absorb moisture, soften and turn white, and then use a light and porous pumice stone to gently rub off the calluses. For local skin that is accidentally torn or bleeding, apply 75% alcohol or put on a Band-Aid in time to avoid infection.

Find a professional to handle it

If thick calluses develop on your feet and affect your daily life and walking, you should see a dermatologist or a regular pedicurist for treatment. They will use a sterilized scalpel or safety blade to remove the calluses layer by layer. Because there are no nerves and blood vessels in the stratum corneum, it will not cause bleeding and pain. However, many pedicure shops use shared knives, which directly act on human skin and stratum corneum, and may cause infection due to punctures if you are not careful.

Don't get pedicures too often

After a period of time, calluses will continue to grow and need to be cut repeatedly. However, too frequent pedicures can stimulate skin keratinization and cause calluses to form faster.

Paying attention to foot care and wearing comfortable shoes is the key to preventing calluses. People who already have calluses on their feet should be careful not to wear shoes that are too big or too tight. They should always wear socks when wearing shoes. Soft insoles can be put inside the shoes, and forefoot pads can be added to the forefoot position. If the heel is under heavy pressure, add heel pads. Do some proper foot massage and care every day, and apply a thick layer of moisturizer on your feet, which is very helpful in softening calluses.
