1. Why do we need to extract teeth or grind them to correct our teeth?

Many people are afraid of the pain of tooth extraction or grinding. In fact, I have experienced both of these things. I had the tooth pulled and was given anesthesia, and then I lost all feeling. Once the anesthetic wears off, the wound will hurt a little. I don't feel anything when I'm grinding my teeth. As shown in the picture below, grinding only grinds the sides of the teeth and will not touch the flesh, let alone the nerves.

Other advantages of slice cutting?

As mentioned above, the gap created by slice cutting is relatively small, so the gap will be closed quickly and the tooth straightening process will be relatively short (compared to tooth extraction). In addition, there is no pain at all when grinding your teeth, because you only grind off the surface of the teeth and do not touch the nerves at all, so you don't feel anything. But tooth extraction will be a bit painful. Even if you are given anesthesia, the wound will still hurt for a few days after the anesthesia wears off. But this pain is temporary.

Disadvantages of slice cutting?

Because slice cutting can only cut off a small amount, the space provided by cutting off several teeth together will not be as large as that provided by tooth extraction. Therefore, if the teeth are severely protruding, the correction effect will not be as obvious as tooth extraction. In addition, after all, teeth grinding destroys the structure of the teeth themselves, and the protective layer on the surface of the teeth may be damaged. You should pay special attention to oral hygiene in the future, otherwise you will be more likely to get tooth decay.
