Rash on the neck

When a rash grows on the neck, it is usually related to our daily living habits. Cervical lymphadenopathy is a common clinical disease and a type of chronic lymphadenitis. The small ones are as big as beans, and the large ones are as big as peanuts. They are slightly hard to the touch, with a smooth surface and can be moved by pushing. There may be mild tenderness. It is often secondary to inflammatory lesions in the head, face, and neck. Some patients may have symptoms of systemic poisoning such as low fever, night sweats, loss of appetite, and weight loss. If not treated promptly, the condition may worsen and develop into an abscess, accompanied by systemic infection symptoms.

Enlarged lymph nodes in the neck belong to the category of "scrofula" and "phlegm nodules" in traditional Chinese medicine. They are common in children or young people. Traditional Chinese medicine believes that the cause of the disease is the exogenous six evil toxins that invade the skin, flow into the meridians, and combine with the internal phlegm and dampness, resulting in disharmony between the Ying and Wei, evil stagnation and heat, stagnation of Qi and blood, and obstruction of the meridians to form phlegm toxins; it can also be caused by infection with evil toxins in milk, caries, and boils on the head and face.
