What is the cause of the red spots on the glans penis?

What is the cause of the red spots on the glans penis?

There are some red spots on the glans, and it is not itchy. Men should pay attention to this. The most common reason is balanitis, which is also a common men's inflammation. When this happens, appropriate treatment should be carried out in time. It can be treated by applying ointments, taking medicines, or using potassium permanganate solution for cleaning. If the foreskin is too long, it is best to perform circumcision in time.

What is the cause of the red spots on the glans penis?

1. Non-infectious factors include local trauma, friction, contraceptives, soaps, detergents and other irritants, which may manifest locally as edema, erythema, erosion, exudation and even bleeding. If secondary bacterial infection occurs, it may cause suppuration and form an ulcer surface. The patient has obvious pain and difficulty in moving. It is clinically called acute superficial balanitis. 2. Candida infection Candida is a conditionally pathogenic fungus, so candidal balanitis often occurs secondary to diabetes, senile wasting diseases, and large-scale antibiotic or hormone treatment. It can also be primary, mostly transmitted from a spouse's candidal vaginitis. There may be light red erosions and thin-walled pustules on the glans and coronal sulcus, but Candida is often not found locally, which may be caused by a local allergic reaction caused by Candida.

3. Patients infected with amoeba often first develop balanitis, which causes the local loss of normal barrier function, and is then caused by intestinal amoebiasis. Local erosion, ulceration, and tissue necrosis are obvious, and amoeba can be found in direct smears of secretions. 4. Trichomonas infection is mostly transmitted through a spouse suffering from vaginal trichomoniasis. The symptoms are relatively mild, mainly manifested as erythematous papules and small blisters on the glans penis. Patients often feel itchy, and Trichomonas can be found in the secretions.

What are the examination items for balanitis?

1. Candida antibody test: Candida albicans antibodies can be detected by latex agglutination method or immune double amplification method. 2. Direct microscopic examination: scrape the scales on the surface of the lesions on the glans penis, coronal sulcus or foreskin as the specimen to be examined. The specimen to be tested is prepared into a slide using 10% potassium hydroxide or normal saline. Groups of oval spores and pseudohyphae can be seen under the microscope. If more pseudohyphae are found, it means that Candida is in the pathogenic stage. 3. Staining examination: Gram staining, Congo red staining or PAS staining can also be used for microscopic examination after staining. The positive rate is higher than that of direct microscopic examination. In Gram staining, spores and pseudohyphae are stained blue; in Congo red and PAS staining, spores and pseudohyphae are stained red. 4. Isolation and culture: Patients with negative smear test results can undergo Candida culture. Under sterile conditions, inoculate the specimen on Sabouraud culture medium. When inoculating, cut the test tube culture medium obliquely and slightly, inoculate 2-3 places in each tube, and inoculate 2 tubes for each specimen. Place the culture medium in a 37°C incubator and incubate it for 24-48 hours. You can see a large number of milky white colonies growing. Use an inoculation needle to pick up a small amount of colonies for smear, and examine it directly under a microscope or after staining. If a large number of spores are visible, it can be preliminarily diagnosed as Candida infection. 5. Examination and testing: In case of candidal balanitis (balanitis), Candida can be found by microscopic examination or culture of samples taken from the diseased glans or foreskin. In trichomoniasis balanitis, Trichomonas may also be found in the secretions.
