Causes of Prostate Enlargement

Causes of Prostate Enlargement

Speaking of the prostate, I believe most of us men should know about it, especially those who are a little older. They pay more attention to the prostate. This is because many men develop some prostate-related diseases when they reach a certain age, which affects their lives and work. Prostate enlargement is a relatively common prostate disease and is quite common in our real life. What causes prostate enlargement? This is what many people want to know.

The incidence of prostate enlargement is still relatively high, so in life, our male friends must take good care of their prostate. Moreover, the treatment of prostate enlargement is also rather troublesome. So, what exactly causes prostate enlargement? Let's introduce this issue in detail below.

Causes

There have been many studies on the pathogenesis of prostatic hyperplasia, but the cause has not yet been elucidated. It is currently known that prostate hyperplasia requires the presence of testicles and aging. In recent years, it has also been noted that smoking, obesity and alcoholism, sexual function, family, race and geographical environment have a relationship with the occurrence of BPH.

Clinical manifestations

In the early stages of prostatic hyperplasia, the symptoms are atypical due to compensation. As the lower urinary tract obstruction worsens, the symptoms gradually become obvious. Because the disease progresses slowly, it is difficult to determine the onset time.

1. Frequent urination

Frequent urination is an early symptom, which starts with an increase in the number of nocturnal urinations, but the amount of urine each time is not much. When lower urinary tract obstruction occurs, 50% to 80% of patients experience urinary urgency or urge incontinence. After the bladder detrusor decompensation, chronic urinary retention occurs, the effective capacity of the bladder is reduced, and the urination interval is shortened. If accompanied by bladder stones or infection, frequent urination will become more obvious and accompanied by pain during urination.

2. Difficulty urinating

The gland enlarges, mechanical obstruction worsens, and symptoms of dysuria are found. The degree of lower urinary tract obstruction is not proportional to the size of the gland. Due to the increase in urethral resistance, the patient's urination is delayed, the urination time is prolonged, the urination range is not far, and the urine stream is thin and weak. Bifurcated urine, with a feeling of incomplete urination. If the obstruction becomes more severe, the person must increase abdominal pressure to help urinate. Breathing causes abdominal pressure to increase or decrease, resulting in interrupted and dripping urine flow.

In fact, there are many reasons for prostate enlargement, and many medical experts have not figured out the specific reasons. However, the enlargement of the prostate in most people is still related to smoking, obesity, alcoholism, genetics, etc., so our male friends must pay attention in their daily lives, try to smoke less, drink less, and protect their prostate.
