Cervical lymphadenopathy is a common clinical disease and a type of chronic lymphadenitis. Enlarged lymph nodes in the neck belong to the category of "scrofula" and "phlegm nodules" in traditional Chinese medicine. They are common in children or young people. Traditional Chinese medicine believes that the cause of the disease is the exogenous six evil toxins that invade the skin, flow into the meridians, and combine with the internal phlegm and dampness, resulting in disharmony between the Ying and Wei, evil stagnation and heat, stagnation of Qi and blood, and obstruction of the meridians to form phlegm toxins; it can also be caused by infection with evil toxins in milk, caries, and boils on the head and face.
