What to do if your feet are cracked

Our normal walking is inseparable from our feet. When there is a problem with our feet, it will not only affect our normal appearance but also have a great impact on our study, work and life. Cracked feet are a condition that many people have encountered, especially in the cold winter, when more people are troubled by cracked feet. So what factors cause cracked feet and what to do about them?

Cracked feet usually occur in dry and cold seasons. Cracked feet are a very common skin disease in life. They are more common among the elderly and women. Although cracked feet are not a serious problem, their harm cannot be ignored. Cracked feet are chapped skin, which often occurs on the palms, soles, lips, corners of the mouth, and around the anus. It is caused by dry skin or chronic inflammation that reduces or eliminates skin elasticity, coupled with the action of external forces. Chapped skin is most common on the feet, sometimes consistent with the texture of the skin, short less than 1 cm, long can be more than 2 cm, deep cracks can cause mild bleeding and pain, generally in cold seasons, or in people who work outdoors and come into contact with fat-soluble and water-absorbent substances.

Many skin diseases can cause chapped skin, such as tinea pedis, chronic eczema, palmoplantar keratosis, ichthyosis, frostbite, etc. Among tinea pedis, there is a type of scaly keratosis, also called dry tinea pedis, which is a chronic infection, manifested as rough, thickened, and hardened skin on the soles, soles, and sides of the feet, with fish scales or large scales attached to them, and the skin texture widens and deepens. In the cold and dry winter, chapped skin appears, and may bleed, and even secondary infection. In severe cases, the pain is unbearable and hinders walking. Some patients with chapped hands and feet, especially the elderly, often like to wrap the chapped areas with adhesive plasters, but this is actually not a scientific treatment method.
