What should I pay attention to when I have a low fever?

Body temperature refers to the internal temperature of the human body. Everyone knows that there are three ways to measure body temperature. One is to measure axillary temperature. The normal axillary temperature is 30 to 37 degrees. One is to measure oral temperature. The oral temperature is 0.2 to 0.4 degrees higher than the axillary temperature. The other is to measure rectal temperature. The rectal temperature is 0.3 to 0.5 degrees higher than the oral temperature. The body temperature is relatively constant. A normal person's body temperature fluctuates slightly within 24 hours.

Many people think that low fever means the body temperature is lower than normal, which is a misunderstanding. A low-grade fever refers to a body temperature between 37.3°C and 38°C, while a long-term low-grade fever refers to a fever lasting for more than two weeks without interruption. What are the causes of low-grade fever?

There are seasonal low fever, physiological low fever, environmental low fever, and organic low fever, and generally the temperature does not exceed 38°C.

Physiological low-grade fever refers to a low-grade fever that occurs in women before menstruation or during pregnancy.

Seasonal low-grade fever, which mostly occurs in summer, is called summer fever; it is often accompanied by physical fatigue, loss of appetite, etc., and will slowly recover with the arrival of autumn.

Environmental low-grade fever refers to one in ten people who work in a high-temperature environment for a long time and will develop a low-grade fever.

Organic low-grade fever refers to a fever caused by physical illness, such as hepatitis, tumor, hyperthyroidism, rheumatism, chronic infection, etc.

In addition, low-grade fever is more common in young people aged 20-30 years old clinically. If the low-grade fever persists, you need to go to the hospital in time for a full-body examination.

What should I pay attention to when I have a low fever?

Generally, if the temperature does not exceed 38°C, it is not recommended to take antipyretics. If you need to take medication, please do so under the guidance of a doctor to avoid the abuse of antipyretics that may cause aplastic anemia.

What to do if you have a low fever? Boil ginger water and soak your feet. Add water and soak until you start sweating. It will probably take more than 30 minutes to sweat.

If the low fever is caused by a cold, you can drink more water at home, preferably freshly boiled water, and blow on it while drinking until you can drink it. When you start to sweat slightly, the low fever is half cured. You can also take some Chinese patent medicine such as cold and heat-clearing granules. If the fever does not go away after taking it, you can take it again after three to four hours.
