Causes of vitreous opacities

Causes of vitreous opacities

Eyes are the windows to the soul. Having a pair of bright eyes enables you to see the details of things in the world. If the vitreous body of the eye is cloudy, it will seriously affect the vision. The vitreous body is like a convex mirror, which receives objects in the field of vision into the pupil, and you can see things through the optic nerve. Eyes are important, but the vitreous body is more important. According to traditional Chinese medicine, the liver opens up to the eyes, so nourishing the liver can improve eyesight.

Among the four seasons, spring corresponds to the liver, so spring is the best season to nourish the liver. Dandelions in spring are the best food for nourishing the liver and improving eyesight. If the vitreous body is already cloudy, what is the cause and is there any good dietary treatment method are issues that everyone is concerned about.

Vitreous opacities may be caused by the following:

2. Bleeding: Bleeding caused by retinal phlebitis, venous occlusion, diabetes, hypertension, trauma or surgery enters the vitreous body, forming red, yellow, grayish white flaky or clumpy turbidity during the process of blood entry and absorption.

3. Pigment, trauma, uveitis, etc. cause pigment particles to enter the vitreous.

4. Parasites and their metabolites, intraocular tumors or metastasis of tumors from other parts of the body to the eye can cause opacity.

5. Ocular trauma and foreign body retention in the vitreous.

6. Hyperplasia of fibrous tissue in the vitreous due to eye trauma, bleeding, diabetes, etc.

7. Vitreous degeneration is more common in the elderly and those with severe myopia.
