Cerebral vascular sclerosis

Cerebral vascular sclerosis

Speaking of the disease of cerebral arteriosclerosis, I believe many middle-aged and elderly friends are already very familiar with it. Because cerebral vascular sclerosis is mainly caused by hardening of the arteries in the brain. This type of disease is extremely harmful to middle-aged and elderly people. It is not only prone to cerebral hemorrhage, but even systemic stroke. So what are the symptoms of cerebral arteriosclerosis?

In fact, the symptoms of cerebral arteriosclerosis are different in different stages. In addition to headaches at the beginning of the disease, there will also be difficulties in work and study, and in the late stage even various hallucinations will occur. Below I will give you a detailed introduction to the disease of cerebral arteriosclerosis.

Symptoms of cerebral vascular sclerosis

Cerebral vascular sclerosis is a type of arteriosclerosis. It is very dangerous because it can easily cause stroke. The symptoms of cerebral vascular sclerosis are different in the early and late stages of the disease.

Initial symptoms: The main symptoms of cerebral arteriosclerosis are: dizziness and headache. Dizziness and headache mostly occur in the forehead and occipital area (i.e. the back of the head). The pain is mostly dull and is most likely to occur when the body position changes or the original symptoms worsen. Some patients feel that their walking is asymmetrical. For example, when the arteries at the base of the body are sclerotic, there may be dizziness, nystagmus, nausea, and facial muscle paralysis, and some may also be accompanied by difficulty swallowing. Memory loss, lack of concentration, reduced mental work ability, and difficulty in work and study.

Late symptoms: The symptoms of cerebral arteriosclerosis are mainly manifested as brain parenchymal mental symptoms and dementia syndrome, that is, cerebral arteriosclerotic psychosis. The most prominent manifestation is memory loss. In addition to the significant impairment of recent memory, remote memory is also affected. The patient is unable to recount his or her own experiences and does not even recognize his or her own family members. Thinking activities are slow, association is difficult, and even thinking is incoherent. Speech is repetitive or verbose. Sometimes delusions occur, with persecution delusions, relationship delusions and guilt delusions being the most common. Sometimes auditory or olfactory hallucinations occur, and the content is often related to fantasy.

diet

(1) Eat more vegetarian food and drink less alcohol: Vegetarian food and fruits contain a lot of vitamin C, potassium and magnesium. Vitamin C can regulate cholesterol metabolism, prevent the development of arteriosclerosis, and increase the density of blood vessels. Alcohol, especially strong liquor, can promote arteriosclerosis and induce stroke.

(2) Eat more vegetable oils and less animal fats: Vegetable oils contain unsaturated fatty acids, which can help lower serum cholesterol; while animal fats such as lard, butter, fatty meat, animal offal, and egg yolks are high in cholesterol.

(3) Eat light food but not too full: A light diet is recommended because salty food will cause sodium to enter the blood vessel walls, causing them to thicken and raising blood pressure. The amount of food you eat should be appropriate and you should not overeat, otherwise being overweight will increase the burden on your heart.

(4) Egg whites and seafood are essential: Lack of protein in the diet can also cause arteriosclerosis. The protein contains animal protein and bean protein to supply the body with essential amino acids. It is best to drink fat-free milk. Seafood such as kelp and marine fish are rich in iodine, iron, calcium, selenium, protein and unsaturated fatty acids. They are recognized as brain nutrients and blood thinners, and have the effect of lowering cholesterol and preventing arteriosclerosis.

Regarding cerebral arteriosclerosis, we have to say that this disease is very harmful to our body. Therefore, in order to prevent the occurrence of such diseases, in addition to paying attention to good daily eating habits, you should also pay attention to eating more vegetarian food and drinking less animal and plant fats, etc., and the amount of food you eat should be appropriate, and you should not overeat.
