What is the urge to urinate?

The existence of urinary urgency as an abnormal physiological phenomenon cannot be ignored. It is very likely that you have a urinary tract infection or a problem with your reproductive system. There are differences between men and women, and of course the urgency of urination is also different for men and women. If men experience symptoms such as urgency and frequency of urination, it may be due to diseases such as urethritis, prostatitis, and prostatic hyperplasia. If a woman has an urgent need to urinate, it may usually be due to a urinary tract infection or cystitis.

There are many reasons why women experience urinary urgency, such as holding urine, menstruation, sexual impulse, the particularity of the structure of the female urinary and reproductive system, and the pressure of the uterus on the bladder during pregnancy. The reason why men experience urinary urgency is generally due to bad living habits. So what should you do if you have an urgent need to urinate?

Among urinary tract infections, lower urinary tract infections such as urethritis and cystitis are the most common. Generally speaking, it is not a serious disease, but only causes some minor discomforts such as frequent urination, urgency, and pain when urinating, and once treated, it will soon improve. As a result, many people do not take it seriously and buy some anti-inflammatory drugs at the drug supermarket on their own, and then stop taking the drugs when they think they are fine. In this way, it is easy for a few pathogenic bacteria to escape the attack of antibiotics and survive. When the time is right, they will come back and cause relapse. Moreover, the bacteria will develop drug resistance at this time, making subsequent treatment more difficult. If urethritis and cystitis are not treated promptly and thoroughly, the bacteria will spread upward along the ureters and invade the kidneys, causing pyelonephritis. At this time, the condition is much more serious, with symptoms such as back pain, fever, chills, general discomfort, and sometimes nausea and vomiting. It is also more complicated to treat. If it turns into "chronic pyelonephritis" and recurs over a long period of time, the kidneys will become uneven in shape, the two kidneys will become different in size, renal function will be damaged, and even develop into "uremia"!

The most important thing in life is our health, which is the capital of revolution. Only with a strong body can we live a better life and work better for our family. Minor illnesses should not be ignored. Don't wait until a serious illness strikes and then regret it. We must ensure prevention first and treatment later. Pay more attention to hygiene in daily life and drink enough water.
