Treatment options for stress urinary incontinence

Stress urinary incontinence refers to the involuntary loss of urine due to a sudden increase in abdominal pressure. The main feature is that there is no enuresis under normal conditions, but urine flows out automatically when the abdominal pressure suddenly increases, such as when you cough, laugh, sneeze, etc. in daily life. Urine flows out of the urethra unconsciously. Although this is not a very bad thing, it will have a certain degree of impact on our lives. Let’s take a look at the methods of treating stress urinary incontinence.

In fact, stress urinary incontinence is not a disease, and we can improve it through some exercises or behaviors in our lives without medication or other methods. So let’s learn about the effective treatments that can effectively relieve stress urinary incontinence in life.

1. Anal lifting exercise: Perform 50 to 100 anal and vaginal tightening exercises every day, each time for 3 to 5 seconds. The specific method is: use your buttocks muscles, contract your anus, count to 10, then exhale slowly through your mouth and relax. After taking a breath, repeat the same action 10 times as a set.

2. Lie flat on the bed and do sit-ups for 10 minutes, twice a day.

3. Lie flat on the bed and do quick and regular leg stretching exercises for 10 minutes, 3 times a day.

4. Squatting for defecation is recommended. Squatting for defecation is beneficial for maintaining or improving the tone of the pelvic floor muscles. Generally, when pelvic floor muscle exercises are used to treat urinary incontinence, the treatment plan includes the following elements: the number of contractions, the frequency of exercise, the duration of a contraction, and the period. Experts suggest that the number of contractions should be more at the beginning; the recommended frequency of exercise is daily exercise, which can be completed in 3 to 4 times. The duration of a contraction can start from 2 to 3 seconds and then gradually increase to 10 seconds if the muscles are weak and the contraction cannot last for 10 seconds. As for the length of the cycle, generally speaking, it takes more than 3 months to see initial results, so you must persevere.

Some of the treatment methods we use to treat stress urinary incontinence are actually a kind of training that can be done at any time in daily life. Therefore, when facing such problems, don’t worry too much and be anxious. These methods can effectively improve the treatment.
