Prevention of rabies

There are many kinds of common diseases in life. When treating some diseases, it is necessary to understand its disease factors, symptoms, and causes, and also to conduct some physical examinations on the patients. Only in this way can we know what kind of treatment method is best and it will be of great help to the improvement of the patient's disease. Rabies is also a disease that causes great harm to human health. How to prevent rabies?

Rabies poses a great threat to the patient's body, so it is also necessary to prevent such a disease to avoid contracting it. So what is the best way to prevent rabies?

Prevention of rabies:

1. Control and eliminate infectious agents

Rabies is the main source of rabies in humans. Therefore, immunizing dogs and capturing and killing rabid and wild dogs are the most effective measures against rabies.

In rabies-endemic areas, people should immunize at least 80% of dogs as soon as possible. Cats with rabies are also a source of infection.

Cats can also be immunized where conditions permit. Any animal found to be suffering from rabies should be killed immediately. Carcasses of rabid animals

It should be burned or buried deep away from water sources (below 2 meters). Do not skin it or eat its meat.

2. Wound Management

The wound should be immediately rinsed thoroughly with 20% soapy water or 1% Sanisol, and then wiped several times with 70% alcohol and tincture of iodine. If immune serum is available,

It can be injected into the base and surrounding areas of the wound. Unless a large blood vessel is injured and emergency bleeding control is required, the wound does not need to be sutured or bandaged.

3. Rabies vaccination and antiserum application

The vaccine currently used in my country is a hamster kidney cell culture vaccine. The victim is given an injection of 2 ml each on days 0, 3, 7, 14 and 30.

For bites (fingers, face, neck or multiple bites), one more injection is given on the 10th and 20th days after the full course of five injections.

Injection into the buttocks muscle.

Application of anti-rabies serum: For severe bites or wounds close to the head (such as chest, face, upper limbs, etc.), in order to prevent

If the disease occurs (before the vaccine takes effect), anti-rabies serum must be used. Injection method: 0.5-1.5 ml per kilogram of body weight.

Inject intramuscularly in divided doses over 72 hours. Infiltration injection can also be performed around the wound. Allergy testing is required before antiserum injection

Tests: those with negative results can be used immediately, while those with positive results require desensitization treatment before injection. Allergy test: dilute the serum with saline

10 times, inject 0.1ml into the skin on the palm side of the forearm, observe for 30 minutes, if rash or papules appear, it is positive and desensitization should be performed. Desensitization method:

Inject 0.2 ml of 10-fold diluted antiserum several times and observe for 10-30 minutes each time. If there is no wheezing, rapid pulse or cyanosis,

The injection volume can be increased as appropriate. If there is no reaction after three injections, the full dose can be injected.

The above is a detailed introduction to the prevention methods of rabies. When preventing such diseases, you can follow the above methods. However, it should be noted that when preventing rabies, you should also pay attention to your own physical condition. If some adverse phenomena occur in the body, you need to check in time to avoid life threats.
