What is low globulin?

Globulin mainly exists in animal and plant cells and body fluids, and the content of globulin in human serum is also very high. They mainly include lactoglobulin, myosin and some proteins. They are generally insoluble in water, but can be dissolved by a small amount of salt and acid and alkali. Globulin is mainly an immune regulator. It can participate in the treatment of some chronic arthritis, some autoimmunity and complete immunity. However, a decrease in globulin can cause a lot of harm.

Decreased globulin is mainly a symptom of liver disease. Decreased globulin means that globulin is lower than normal. The normal value of positive globulin is 20 to 30 grams per liter. Globulin mainly promotes the regeneration of liver cells. If the globulin level is too low, it will cause some liver diseases. What is the reason for low globulin?

What the different values of globulin mean:

1. In severe hepatitis, if a2 globulin decreases to below 0.4 g%, it indicates that the patient is about to or has already developed hepatic coma. In liver cancer, a2 globulin often increases. a2 contains lipoprotein. When cholestasis occurs, especially in chronic cases, when blood lipids increase, a2 globulin increases accordingly. In decompensated cirrhosis, a2 globulin is often reduced.

2. β-globulin usually increases in cholestatic liver disease. When liver cells are severely damaged, beta globulin decreases due to reduced liver synthesis and can drop below 6% in some cases.

3. R-globulin increases in almost all hepatobiliary diseases. In viral hepatitis, r-globulin increases moderately and is generally expected to recover within 2-3 months. If r-globulin continues to increase without any other explanation, it often means that the disease has deteriorated and has turned into chronic hepatitis or cirrhosis.

The main reason for low globulin level is that the globulin level is less than 0.4 grams, which indicates that the patient has some liver problems, such as hepatic coma which may cause serious damage to some liver cells. Low globulin level can also lead to other types of liver diseases. Viral hepatitis can also cause a continuous decrease in globulin level. Therefore, if you find that the globulin level is low, you must go to the hospital for treatment and diagnosis in time and do not take any medicine casually.
