What to do if acne leaves scars

Acne is the pimples that bother many young men and women. There are many different types of acne. For example, the acne found on the faces of middle-aged people is generally rosacea, which can easily cause rosacea. However, if acne is not treated in time, it will easily leave scars. The scars left by acne will make the facial skin look very uneven, so how should we remove them at this time?

How to treat acne scars

1. Radiation therapy: Radiation therapy uses low-dose superficial radiation to reduce scars. Because of the possibility of long-term side effects, radiation therapy is usually reserved for treating keloids in adults who have not responded to other treatment options.

2. Surgical scar removal: Surgical scar removal refers to the surgical removal of scars performed in a hospital or clinic. It is often used to remove hypertrophic scars and keloids, or scars near joints that impede movement. It is often combined with steroid injections and follow-up with a silicone patch.

3. Steroid injection: Steroid injection means injecting steroids under the surface of the scar. Corticosteroid injections are the first-line treatment for hypertrophic scars and keloids. Injections are required every 4-6 weeks, and the entire cycle needs to be continued for several months or until the scar is flattened. Because the injection is painful, a local anesthetic may be needed.

4. Laser surgery: Laser surgery can improve the color of scars and fade red scars by destroying the vascular tissue and pigmentation in the scar tissue. However, it has almost no effect on the tissue hyperplasia of scars, and other therapies are needed to achieve the treatment goal.

5. Elastic vests: Elastic vests are often used to treat new scars after large-scale burns and are currently the standard treatment for hypertrophic burn scars.

Through the above introduction, we have a certain understanding of this issue. If there are still unclear points, please inform the doctor in time and then follow the doctor's instructions.
