Can mild cervical spondylosis heal itself?

Can mild cervical spondylosis heal itself?

The incidence of cervical spondylosis is relatively high in recent years. On the one hand, middle-aged and elderly people are a high-risk group for the disease, which is related to degenerative diseases. On the other hand, some young people have also become a group with a high incidence of cervical spondylosis. This is closely related to long-term sitting and less exercise. If it is a mild cervical spondylosis, you must pay attention to conditioning and improve some bad living habits at work.

Can mild cervical spondylosis heal itself?

1. Improve bad habits at work.

An improper working posture not only affects the treatment effect, but is also one of the main causes of the occurrence, development and recurrence of the disease, and must be taken seriously. Bad posture of the head and neck should be corrected regularly or promptly, with the time interval not exceeding half an hour, and some neck exercises should be done to allow the cervical spine to move and rest in all directions.

2. Improve and adjust sleep status.

Improper sleeping posture can not only easily cause low back and leg pain, but also make it more likely to cause or aggravate cervical spondylosis. Therefore, paying attention to improving and adjusting the position of the cervical spine during sleep and the softness, hardness and height of the pillow can play a preventive and therapeutic role.

3. Self-traction therapy.

This is a measure that will have immediate effects. If you suddenly feel neck pain, or radiating pain in your shoulders, back and upper limbs, you can cross your hands, raise them above your head and place them on the neck pillow. Then tilt your head back and gradually pull your hands towards your head for 5 to 10 seconds. Repeat 3 to 4 times to relieve the pressure in the intervertebral space.

Self-treatment of cervical spondylosis is not enough. Self-treatment can only relieve symptoms. If you want to cure it completely, you still have to choose regular treatment methods.

At present, there are mainly the following methods for treating cervical spondylosis:

1. Western medicine treatment:

Western medicine has anti-inflammatory and analgesic effects and can relieve pain, but it is of no help in curing cervical spondylosis. Long-term use of the medicine may damage one's internal organs, so it is not recommended.

2. Traction therapy:

Traction therapy is one of the commonly used treatments for patients with cervical spondylosis, but it can only be used for patients with mild symptoms. Severe patients need to be treated with caution.

3. Massage and acupuncture:

Massage and acupuncture are commonly used conservative treatments, but they need to be performed under the operation of a regular physician. Not just anyone can perform massage. For patients with severe cervical spondylosis, it can only have a relieving effect.

4. Surgical treatment:

Surgical treatment is a therapy adopted by many hospitals. This therapy is effective relatively quickly, but it also has certain disadvantages, such as intraoperative complications and contraindications, surgical trauma, postoperative recovery, etc. These all need to be considered.

5. External application of Chinese medicine:

External application of Chinese medicine is the common plaster, which is a kind of traditional Chinese medicine. Many patients need to take it for a long time, which will inevitably cause damage to the body. External application can avoid damage to the body while ensuring the effect. It is a very good method.
