How to treat left pleural effusion?

How to treat left pleural effusion?

The body is the capital of revolution. Whether it is a newborn baby, a student studying hard in school, or a young person working hard at work, we should all pay attention to our bodies so that we can grow up healthily, make progress in learning, and work smoothly. We breathe with the help of our lungs, and the chest cavity is also an important organ of our body. If we encounter pleural effusion, we should not panic, but follow the following suggestions step by step.

Under normal circumstances, the surface of the visceral and parietal pleura is covered with a thin layer of ten to twenty milliliters of fluid. The composition of the fluid is similar to that of plasma, but its protein content is lower. Pleural fluid exudes from the pleural capillaries and is absorbed by the parietal pleural interstitium and lymphatic vessels.

Pleural effusion is divided into transudative and exudative. The former is caused by increased microvascular pressure or decreased osmotic pressure, and the latter is caused by pleural inflammation, which increases the permeability of the pleural surface to proteinaceous fluid. Lymphatic obstruction can also cause pleural fluid accumulation. There are many reasons for exudative and transudative effusion.

If the amount of pleural effusion is too large, you can be hospitalized for puncture and fluid extraction. Many pleural effusions are caused by tuberculosis. If the tuberculosis is under control, the pleural effusion will also be cured. If the amount is small, it can be absorbed slowly. It is recommended to go to a professional tuberculosis hospital to receive regular anti-tuberculosis chemotherapy. It is important to follow the course of treatment for pulmonary tuberculosis. You cannot stop taking the medicine privately during the course. If the pulmonary tuberculosis is not in the active stage, you can take the medicine home for treatment. You should undergo regular examinations.

If it is unilateral pleural effusion, the first thing to consider is the respiratory department. If it is bilateral, it may also be a cardiology matter. It also depends on the underlying disease.

Pleural effusion prevention measures:

1. Actively prevent and treat primary diseases. Pleural effusion is part of chest or systemic disease, so actively preventing and treating the primary disease is the key to preventing this disease.

2. Strengthen physical fitness and improve disease resistance. Actively participate in various appropriate physical exercises, such as Tai Chi, Tai Chi sword, Qigong, etc., to enhance physical fitness and improve disease resistance.

3. Pay attention to your lifestyle adjustments. The place where you live should be kept dry to avoid invasion of dampness, do not eat raw or cold food, do not overeat, and maintain normal spleen and stomach functions. After getting sick, seek timely treatment, avoid wind and cold, be careful in your daily life, and relax your mind to achieve a speedy recovery.

Pleural effusion is a key disease of the chest and the whole body, so it is particularly important to find the cause and treat it. Transudate can often be absorbed and removed after the cause is changed. When facing left-sided pleural effusion, you don’t have to be overly nervous. Just actively cooperate with treatment when necessary. I wish all readers good health!
