What are the symptoms of acute gastroenteritis with fever?

The gastrointestinal system has a profound impact on people's physical health because the gastrointestinal system is very fragile. It is the organ tissue that directly contacts food and is easily affected by harmful substances in food first, causing gastrointestinal infection or inflammation. Fever is a typical symptom of acute gastroenteritis. Let’s take a look at the symptoms of fever in acute gastroenteritis. I hope everyone can understand it.

Acute gastroenteritis can cause fever. Acute gastroenteritis usually occurs several hours to 24 hours after overeating, eating contaminated food, or taking medicine that irritates the stomach.

Acute gastroenteritis generally presents with diarrhea, which may be accompanied by vomiting, pain and fever. You can take norfloxacin capsules to reduce inflammation and stop diarrhea, and eat a light diet to avoid further irritation of the gastrointestinal tract. If you have diarrhea frequently and have symptoms of dehydration, you will need fluid replacement therapy. You can drink light salt water to replenish sodium ions and eat about 2 bananas to replenish potassium ions. The current fatigue symptoms may be related to fever or electrolyte imbalance (potassium ion loss).

Main manifestations:

1. Upper abdominal pain in the left middle or around the umbilicus, with paroxysmal aggravation or persistent dull pain, accompanied by abdominal distension and discomfort.

2. Nausea and vomiting. The vomitus is undigested food. The patient feels comfortable after vomiting. Some patients even vomit yellow bile or stomach acid.

3. Diarrhea occurs in patients with diarrhea and enteritis.

4. Dehydration is caused by repeated vomiting and diarrhea, resulting in excessive water loss, poor skin elasticity, sunken eyeballs, thirst, oliguria and other symptoms. In severe cases, blood pressure drops and the limbs become cold.

If the fever persists above 38.5 degrees Celsius, you can take antipyretic drugs orally. Pay attention to replenishing water and salt in time. You can supplement with oral rehydration salts, or add some salt and sugar to boiled water. Sugar can promote the absorption of water and salt. It is advisable to eat a light diet and avoid spicy and irritating foods. Don't worry, it is easily cured with active treatment.

You can use a thermometer to measure the temperature. If it exceeds 38.5℃, you need to take aspirin tablets or compound acetaminophen orally to reduce fever and relieve pain. You can also use physical cooling methods (warm water bath, alcohol bath), or you can chill water in a mineral water bottle and place it under your armpits, groin, etc., which can also achieve a cooling effect. Please drink water.
