Which acupoints should be used for moxibustion to nourish the kidneys?

Men with kidney deficiency may suffer from back pain, weakened sexual performance, and be unable to hold their heads up in front of their wives. Their self-esteem will be severely damaged. Men with kidney deficiency can regulate their bodies through moxibustion, which can have the effect of strengthening yang and tonifying the kidney. Of course, the methods and techniques of moxibustion are very particular, and the same is true for tonifying the kidneys through moxibustion. In particular, the selection of acupoints is very critical. Here we will introduce the methods of tonifying the kidneys through moxibustion.

Moxibustion is a method of using moxa sticks (generally called clear moxa sticks) made of moxa wool, lighting one end of the moxa stick, and then fumigating or burning the acupuncture points. If moxa sticks (generally called medicinal moxa sticks) made by adding warm and aromatic drugs to moxa are used for fumigation, it is called "medicinal stick moxibustion". The method of moxa stick moxibustion is mainly to hang the burning moxa stick on the acupuncture points to be moxibustioned. During moxibustion, the lit end should be about 3 cm away from the skin. Generally, each acupoint is moxibustioned for about 10 minutes, until the skin becomes warm and red, with a warm feeling, but without causing burning pain or burns to the skin. There are two methods of moxibustion: mild moxibustion and sparrow pecking moxibustion.

Mild moxibustion: When performing moxibustion, light one end of the moxa stick and aim it at the acupoint or affected area to be moxibustioned, about 2-3 cm away from the skin, and fumigate it. Figure 150. The best time for fumigation is when the patient feels a local warmth without any burning pain. Usually each part is moxibustioned for 5-7 minutes until the skin turns red. For patients who faint or have local dullness of perception, the doctor can separate the middle and index fingers and place them on both sides of the moxibustion area. In this way, the doctor can measure the local heat level of the patient through the feeling of his fingers, so as to adjust the moxibustion distance at any time and prevent burns.

In fact, when using moxibustion to nourish the kidney, you not only need to learn how to choose and operate it, but there are also many methods for the specific operation. Sparrow pecking moxibustion, indirect moxibustion, ginger moxibustion, garlic moxibustion, etc. are all common moxibustion operation methods. Different methods can produce different effects, so if you want to nourish your kidneys through moxibustion, you must choose a professional acupuncturist to ensure the effect.
