Moxibustion is a traditional Chinese medicine method that uses burning moxa leaves to stimulate the acupuncture points on our body surface, thereby achieving the effects of health care and curing diseases. Moxibustion is actually a kind of physical therapy. This method of treating diseases has begun in ancient times, and moxibustion and acupuncture often have complementary effects. For modern people, there may be relatively more people doing acupuncture, and relatively fewer friends doing moxibustion. Let me introduce the effects of moxibustion on Guanyuan Qihai. In fact, whether it is lower back pain or cold hands and feet, the root cause is poor blood circulation. According to traditional Chinese medicine theory, moxibustion can promote blood circulation, expel cold air from the body, and improve cold hands and feet. Moxibustion therapy can improve health, prevent diseases and cure illnesses, and it has a history of thousands of years in my country. As early as the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period, people had begun to widely use moxibustion. For example, there is a record in "Zhuangzi" that "the Yue people fumigate with moxa" and "Mencius" that "seven years of illness require three years of moxa treatment." Moxibustion was initially used mainly to treat cold syndrome, especially moxibustion on the Qihai acupoint and Guanyuan acupoint, which can achieve the effects of warming the meridians, promoting yang, warming qi and blood circulation. When Qi flows, blood flows, and when blood flows, blood stasis is dispersed. By removing blood stasis and unblocking meridians, it brings warmth to the body and dispels coldness. These two acupoints are easy to find. Put your fingers together and place them below your navel. About two fingers away is the Qihai point, and three fingers away is the Guanyuan point. Qihai acupoint, Qi means gaseous substance; Hai means big, which means that the water vapor of the Ren meridian is located here. It is known as "Qihai acupoint warms the whole body", which means that Qihai acupoint has the function of warming and strengthening the whole body. According to traditional Chinese medicine, this point is the center of the human body and the source of vitality. The body's true qi is generated from this. Therefore, for deficiency of yang qi and lack of vitality caused by deficiency and cold diseases, the Qihai point often has the effects of warming yang and replenishing qi, strengthening the body, and nourishing the essence and replenishing deficiency. In clinical practice, moxibustion on the Qihai acupoint is often used to treat patients with congenital deficiencies, acquired malnutrition, and weak constitutions. We must ensure that we are fully focused when doing moxibustion. Moxibustion will not be effective just by doing it occasionally. We must persist in doing it. When doing moxibustion, the acupoints selected must be accurate. Since moxibustion requires fire, you must also pay attention to fire prevention during the process. Finally, when doing moxibustion, you have to take off your clothes, so you must pay attention to keeping your body warm. |
