Will I feel sleepy when I'm pregnant?

Due to the change in hormone levels in a woman's body after pregnancy, she will not only experience early vomiting, but will also be extremely sleepy and physically tired. In addition, her belly will be a little big in the later stages of pregnancy, making it even more cumbersome to move. However, pregnant women should go out for a walk more often and breathe fresh air. This will help the healthy development of the baby and will also be beneficial for the pregnant woman's future delivery.

Sleepiness during pregnancy is a normal physiological phenomenon. The basal metabolism of pregnant women will increase, the maternal endocrine system will undergo significant changes, the body's calories will be consumed quickly, and blood sugar will be insufficient, which are all reasons for sleepiness. Sufficient sleep is very important for pregnant women. If sleepiness affects your life or schedule, it is recommended that expectant mothers eat small meals frequently to maintain a certain blood sugar concentration. In addition, you may take a short nap when you are tired, but it is best not to exceed an hour to avoid insomnia at night.

Precautions for pregnancy

1. Eat a balanced diet, don’t smoke, stay away from alcohol and drugs, and reduce caffeine intake. Limit your intake to two cups of coffee or cola a day.

2. It is best not to keep pets at home. Do not approach sick people. Start taking vitamins, especially the B vitamins.

3. Do not do B-ultrasound examination more than 3 times during pregnancy. It is very necessary to do B-ultrasound examination during pregnancy. However, does B-ultrasound have any effect on the fetus? How many times can B-ultrasound be done during pregnancy? There is already data from abroad proving that B-ultrasound can be harmful to the fetus. An expert in Beijing selected women who were 7 to 8 weeks pregnant and preparing for abortion, and divided them into three groups according to the length of time they took for B-ultrasound examinations: 1 minute, 3 minutes, and 10 minutes, for a comparative observation. The results showed that before the B-ultrasound examination, the embryos in these pregnant women were developing well; after the B-ultrasound examination, except for 5 cases with no changes at 1 minute, the villi of the remaining embryos were deformed, showing disordered cell arrangement and bubble-like structures in the cells. Further development may cause fetal malformation or miscarriage. It is obvious that the longer the embryo is exposed to ultrasound, the greater the adverse effects will be.

4. Arrange work and rest properly

A woman's body will undergo a series of special changes during pregnancy, which may have a certain impact on her daily work and study. Therefore, arranging the work and rest of pregnant women reasonably will greatly benefit the health of both the mother and the fetus.

5. Sexual intercourse should be prohibited during the first three months and last three months of pregnancy. Excessive sexual intercourse can lead to miscarriage and premature birth.

6. If a pregnant woman lacks folic acid and vitamins, the risk of neural tube defects in the fetus will increase. Therefore, pregnant women should eat more vegetables and fruits, and appropriately supplement folic acid and multiple vitamins.

7. Iron deficiency anemia is more common among pregnant women, so iron supplementation during pregnancy is also very important. During pregnancy, hemoglobin should be checked once a month, iron and vitamin C should be supplemented, and protein intake should be increased.
