If you are not careful in your daily life, you may suffer a fracture of the instep. This type of fracture is more serious and is also a common type of fracture. Fractures often cause patients to experience obvious pain. It can easily cause subcutaneous bleeding and swelling. At this time, timely treatment should be carried out, dietary adjustments should be strengthened, and more calcium-rich foods should be eaten. Only in this way can recovery be faster. Common symptoms of a broken foot Fractures of the metatarsal bones (the middle bones of the foot) are also common. This type of fracture is often caused by excessive walking or overstrain, or by sudden, powerful, violent impact. Most patients only need to wear hard-soled shoes and occasionally need to be immobilized with a below-the-knee cast. If the broken bones are significantly separated, surgery may be needed to reduce the fracture. Metatarsal fractures of the big toe or little toe are more complicated and usually require a cast or surgery. The sesamoids (the two small round bones at the end of the metatarsal bone in the big toe) can also be fractured. Running, walking long distances, and playing hard-surface sports such as basketball and tennis can cause sesamoid fractures. Cushions in the shoes or specially constructed orthotics can help relieve pain. If pain persists, surgery to remove the sesamoid bones is necessary. Injuries to the toes, especially the little toe, are common and are mostly caused by walking barefoot. Simple fractures of the four little toes do not require a cast. Use tape to clamp the toes or tie adjacent toes together for 4 to 6 weeks. Wearing stiff-soled or loose-fitting shoes can help relieve pain. If walking in normal shoes makes the pain worse, it is recommended to wear well-fitting boots. Big toe fractures are generally more serious and can cause more widespread pain, swelling, and bleeding under the skin. A toe fracture can be caused by a direct impact or a fall of a heavy object. Fractures that involve a toe joint require surgery. How to recover quickly from a broken foot The diet can be based on the early, middle and late stages of fracture healing and the development of the disease, with different foods to promote hematoma absorption or callus formation. In the early stage (1-2 weeks), the injured area is swollen and congested, the meridians are blocked, and qi and blood are blocked. The treatment at this stage is mainly to promote blood circulation and remove blood stasis, and promote qi circulation and dissipate. Traditional Chinese medicine believes that "if blood stasis is not removed, bones cannot grow" and "if blood stasis is removed, new bones will grow". It can be seen that reducing swelling and dispersing blood stasis are the primary priorities for fracture healing. In principle, the diet should be light, such as vegetables, eggs, soy products, fruits, fish soup, lean meat, etc. Avoid spicy, dry, hot, and greasy foods, especially fatty and nourishing foods too early, such as bone soup, fat chicken, stewed fish, etc. Otherwise, blood stasis will accumulate and be difficult to dissipate, which will delay the course of the disease, slow the growth of bone callus, and affect the recovery of joint function in the future. During this stage, the diet therapy can be 10 grams of Panax notoginseng, 10 grams of Angelica sinensis, and 1 pigeon. Stew them together until they are soft, and eat the soup and meat together, once a day for 7-10 days. In the middle stage (2-4 weeks), most of the swelling and bruises are absorbed. The treatment in this stage is mainly focused on harmonizing the blood circulation to relieve pain, removing blood stasis and promoting new growth, and connecting bones and tendons. The diet should be changed from light to high-nutrition to meet the needs of callus growth. Bone soup, Panax notoginseng chicken, animal liver, etc. can be added to the initial diet to supplement more vitamins A, D, calcium and protein. For dietotherapy, you can use 10 grams of angelica, 15 grams of drynaria, 10 grams of Dipsacus asper, and 250 grams of fresh pork chops or beef ribs. Stew them for more than 1 hour. Eat the soup and meat together. Use it for 2 consecutive weeks. Late stage (more than 5 weeks): 5 weeks after the injury, the swelling at the fracture site has been basically absorbed and callus has begun to grow. This is the late stage of the fracture. Treatment should be tonic, by nourishing the liver and kidneys, qi and blood, to promote the formation of a stronger callus, and relax the muscles and tendons, so that the adjacent joints of the fracture can move freely and flexibly and restore their previous functions. Dietary taboos can be lifted, and the recipe can be supplemented with old hen soup, pork bone soup, mutton bone soup, stewed water fish, etc. Those who can drink can choose Eucommia ulmoides and Drynaria wine, Millettia reticulata wine, tiger bone and papaya wine, etc. For diet therapy, you can use 10 grams of wolfberry, 15 grams of bone-healing herb, 10 grams of Dipsacus asper, and 50 grams of Job's tears. First boil Drynaria fortunei and Dipsacus asper to remove the residue, then add the other two ingredients and cook into porridge. Take once a day, 7 days as a course of treatment. Wait 3-5 days after each course of treatment, 3-4 courses in total. |
