We will immediately think of the following picture: an old man in a bamboo hat fishing by the stream; a nimble figure picking herbs by the cliff; a thin old man with silver beard and a warrior looking mighty in an ancient temple in the mountains. Such a picture is fascinating. They are all energetic old people. In fact, 99% of underweight people cannot reach this level. The average life expectancy in the past was very short. What was it exactly? Due to factors such as war, science and technology, and disasters, we are unable to find scientific data. But judging from the current health status in my country's rural areas, except for people in the developed southeast coastal areas, the age is slightly higher, with men between 72 and 78 years old and women in their 80s. Those from well-off families can reach over 90. Their common characteristics are that they have been busy all their lives, have a relatively light diet, are slightly overweight, and basically no one with lean body weight has lived a long life. Looking at the rural areas in the west, I once spent several years specifically studying some villages around Urumqi. One winter, eleven elderly people died in a village with a small population. They were all in their sixties. Most of them were thin, the kind that came from protein deficiency, with sunken areas under their cheekbones. Young people even said that they were almost dead, because they had no income and no pension insurance. The image of thin old people is most common among elderly people with poor stomachs in cities. Their diet has long been insufficient in terms of various nutrients, their economic level has limited their living conditions, and their children's abilities are proportional to their filial piety. We have no right to make too many comments. For more middle-aged and elderly people in cities, the reason is not economic but health. Most of them have poor spleen and stomach, do not eat much, or cannot digest food, or have primary diseases. Some of them are underweight but also have high blood lipids, high blood pressure, diabetes and other cardiovascular diseases. To avoid an increased risk of all-cause mortality, these people must do the following: 1. To improve the spleen and stomach, drink yogurt with wheat germ about an hour after dinner every day; 2. Eat a variety of foods, mainly cereals, and eat small and frequent meals; 3. Eat a poached or boiled egg and a bowl of multi-grain porridge every morning; 4. 500 grams of vegetables per day is enough, and half of them should be dark; 5. Often stew various meats on low heat for six hours and drink two bowls of broth every day; 6. Drink a glass of milk, a bottle of yogurt, and take a tablet of calcitriol every day. If osteoporosis is severe, you should also take some calcium tablets every day. 7. Exercise more with the elderly of the same age, exercise safely, promote metabolism, and drink enough water; 8. Take the initiative to invite children and grandchildren to come home to eat and chat together; 9. If your body allows, try to cook for yourself. This series of activities can enhance your function, improve your health index, and reduce the risk of Alzheimer's disease. 10. Eat all kinds of oils, such as peanut oil, sunflower oil, rapeseed oil, soybean oil, linseed oil, and olive oil. Changing them will help the brain and reaction ability!
